Disney Virginia

What is the scoop on Disney Virginia, the other day was the first I ever heard about it, and Michael Eisner was trying to build a new theme park.

And it died, how close did this ever come through to fruition?

Oh my goodness...what? I have never heard of this! You mean they have considered making a park in Virginia? Does anyone know where or if this is even still being considered? I mean, of course it couldn't be exactly like Disneyland, but wow, to have SOMETHING Disney here, that would be great!

Never heard of this either. I have heard rumors of Texas, Missouri, and Washington DC (Disney America I think it was called).

Who wouldn't want one in their backyard?

That died ages ago and was very controversial. They would be digging up historic areas and the traffic would upset the area. Big battle and if Disney had continued you would have seen a full out war to stop the project and they did battle hard to stop the project and it was on the news a lot back then.

There have been rumors around Texas for a couple of decades about a 3rd US Disney park. In fact, the location I've heard most frequently puts it literally less than 10 miles from my house. But, that's a rumor I give absolutely no credibility to until I actually see the turnstiles.

I lived in the county (Prince William County, VA) when this park was proposed. I would have loved to seen it happen, but there was so much opposition.

Mostly traffic and urban development. The people who lived in Haymarket didn't want their town to turn into another Anaheim or Orlando.
