Has anyone used Kelloggs Kash to book a value resort at Disney? I just saw this on my box of Mini Wheats and is wondering if we could eat 100 boxes of them over the next several months to get a room at Disney.

Has anyone tried this yet? I wonder if it works for Pop Century.

I'm curious about this too. I would defintely buy the cereal for the chance of a free room. How does the deal work?

Well you have to collect 100 of these Kelloggs Kash certificates, and they are only on a few types of Kelloggs Cereal.

You can read more on this website:

Or pick up one of the boxes of cereal that has the Kelloggs Kash on it.

And you can only get up to 2 free nights per household.

My box of Raisin Bran says that the free room offer is only good until 6/30/2004 and you have to send in your certificates by 3/31/2004. However, someone on the Rewards Boards posted that their Mini Wheats box has extended dates that run until 12/19/2004 and then from 1/4/05-8/31/05. I guess that it depends on how fresh your cereal is :) .

All I see on the site is ebay auction w/kellogs kash. Where does it talk about the free hotel nites?

It's not on the website. It's only on boxes of Raisin Bran, Corn Flakes and Mini Wheats. The auctions are only run by eBay. It isn't linked to any eBay auctions and you cannot use Kellogg Kash to bid on eBay auctions.

It doesn't seem like it's worth the money. For the price of a night at a value resort, you're better off paying cash since the amount of money you'd spend on the cereal is way more than the hotel night is worth. I guess if you're planning to eat 100 boxes of the cereal in that time period then it's practical, but if you saved the money you'd spend on just a third of the cereal you could have your 'free night' at the resort.

The idea is that you would be buying and eating cereal and waffles anyway. The certificates are a bonus. If you don't eat cereal or don't like the varieties that have the certificates, then it surely is not worth the expense.

But, if you're like us and go thru 3-5 boxes each week anyway and you purchase those cereals on sale (I spent $1.33 per box last time), then it can certainly be worth the effort of cutting out certificates and mailing them in.

We eat cereal for breakfast every day, and I will only buy the cereal on sale, so it is 'extra' to us to get the free stay at a resort. I just checked the sales today and we can get the cereal for $1.67 (I don't have coupons this week for it, but this is still a good price---anytime I can get cereal under $2 a box I think it is alright, a $1 a box is super!).

So I will be buying about 3 or 4 of these boxes this week. But I agree, if you are not going to eat the cereal then it would be silly to buy it just for these certificates. It will just make me buy these kinds of cereal instead of other IF they are on sale (never pay full price for cereal!).

I wish they had the Frosted Flakes as part of the deal, we would eat a LOT of those!

Buy the cereal to get your certificates and donate the cereal to a food bank. They get food, you get the satisfaction of helping others and reward yourself with a couple free nights at WDW. Not a bad reward!

We go through a lot of cereal too, especially now that I'm 9 months pregnant, but nowhere near 5 boxes per week. We also never get lucky enough to buy cereal for $1.33 a box, usually well over $2. The other thing is, we typically don't eat the same few cereals everyday for months, we tend to buy a variety. So since our cereal is closer to $3, it would seem cheaper to me to just put $1 aside in a box for WDW everyday.

According to Kellogg's site, the following cereals/sizes have coupons: Honey Crunch Corn Flakes®: 21.3 oz, 15.1 oz
Kellogg's Corn Flakes®: 7 oz, 24 oz, 18 oz, 12 oz
Mini-Wheats® Frosted Original: 20.4 oz, 16 oz
Raisin Bran: 25.5 oz, 15 oz

Also: Two (2) WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort Hotel Awards per household. No substitutions allowed. This KELLOGG KASH™ mail-in offer expires May 31, 2005. All WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort Hotel Awards must be used by August 31, 2005. Offer available most nights 01/04/04-12/19/04 and 1/4/05 - 8/31/05. Length of stay restrictions may apply. Minimum 30 day advance reservations required. Sales and occupancy taxes are included in the WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort Hotel Award. Travel, meals, incidentals, gratuities, and other expenses are not included.

One bigquestion is how long the boxes with the coupons will be on the shelves of you local grocery store? Several years ago I went on a tour of Kellogg's main plant and found that the pull date is one year after date of manufacture. A big question is for how many months will these boxes be produced. I can just visualize having about eight coupons and then not be able to buy any more.
