Disney Vacay with the Love Bugs (New 6/23 update ~ Chef Mickeys)

LOL-- I can only imagine the speedo man and his girlfriend! Hey, if it's hot, can't imagine a better way to cool down! Don't know why anyone would think that was appropriate, though!
I love the picture of the twins asleep on their daddy-- so precious!

It was a great idea to cool off and very entertaining considering how much was hanging out! lol

Oh my gosh! The speedo/binkini couple! I'm not sure I could have prevented myself from laughing! :lmao: I would love to know what went through their heads when they started stripping down!

I was a ways behind!

Hooray on having a white Christmas! That had to be very exciting for everyone, except poor Levi. :sad2: I'm glad to hear he made a full recovery for the next snow - and that no one else in the house got it!

And this pic:

How do you look so darn good at 5:30 am?!?!? I look like I got run over with a truck! :lmao: Seriously, share your tips woman!

Looks like a fantastic Christmas was had by all. :goodvibes

You're too kind! I think because Santa did not get into bed until around 1:30 am then woke up at 5:30 am, there was not much sleeping to mess up my hair!

Your KRR ride was UNFORGETTABLE!!!!! Wow. And I have to agree with Mary, thank you for NOT taking a pic. :rotfl:

Glad to hear Lexi made it through on EE. Did she ride the second time too? Did she like it even a little bit?

Lexi did not like the ride. But since it didn't scare her, she did ride again. She was a trooper!

Speedo man and bikini girl certainly made your first KRR ride a special one.:lmao:

Oh, the yeti. Only time I have seen him was in Feb. 09 and he had the flashing "disco" light on him. I think after Chris and I looked at each other and said that was weird. Of course, now it is even weirder to not see him, just the shadow. Still a great ride. And yay for Lexi riding it twice.

Scary about the kids when they were little. How lucky you were that your cousin just happened to be there to help out. Glad Levi didn't hurt himself falling down the escalator. I guess that means that no matter how old your kids get you still have to watch out for them on escalators.

Great update!

Much to my daughters' dismay, KRR will be refurbed while we are there--PW too!

My daughters love EE, me, uh, HATE it. I ride it once each trip trying to see the Yeti. I hate that the ride stops long enough to see the projection but not long enough to see the animatronic! Like Lexi, I had my eyes closed for most of my first ride. I asked DH if we went upside down after the ride...God love him for not laughing at me.

KRR ride was definitely special!

One day maybe I'll get to see the Yeti, with or with a disco ball! :)

I thought Levi & Levi were old enough not to worry about them on a escalator anymore, but I found out wrong that day.
It was a blessing that my cousin was at the mall. at the right spot, at the right timing !

That's a bummer those will be refurbed during your trip.

I do not like ANY rollercoasters! I used to keep my eyes closed if I ever did ride on one. Now, I pretend to enjoy them & act brave for my kids!

That was sweet of your DH for not laughing at you, he could have had a lot of fun telling you the ride did all kinds of things that it really didn't!

Maybe the Yeti is supposed to be like the real thing. Some people see it & some people don't:confused3

I've been looking for a pair, so you better be on the look-out for those jammies!
Actually, I have some, but I never wear them! There is just something about long "pants" on my legs when I crawl in bed. They tend to slide up my legs and I am never comfortable. I usually end up taking them off and throwing them in the floor so I can get some sleep! My boys love wearing sleep pants, even around the house. I just pull on sweats when I want to stay warm.
I thought about that too with my t-shirt once we were there, good thing I was prepared with the poncho!!!

I know, I know, I let everyone down on my TR not taking a pic of bikini girl! I'm learning on this TR. Next time, we'll use our cell phone so it will not be obvious!
You have got to get better with the photo ops!!! :rotfl2:

Good job! She would hate riding with me! I always build it up to be terrible and make the "comforting" comments when you get to the torn up tracks!!! :rotfl2:
One day maybe I'll get to see the Yeti, with or with a disco ball! :)
I hope they get it fixed! It definitely adds to the ride experience! :thumbsup2

What a nice Mom! ;)

Now that's funny! :lmao:

We had a ton of snow (for us) this past week. The most that we’ve had since 1988. We were out of school all last week & I did not work either. This time Levi was able to enjoy the snow & we had a great week!

Back to TR:

I left off where we had left AK & we were getting on the monorail at CR to go to MK.

The best thing that I love about taking a Disney vacation is the time that our family spends together. We’re very family oriented at home, but we still stay so busy with work, school, homework, cleaning, cooking, running to ballgames, being distracted with t.v., computer, etc…

At Disney, we’re together 24/7 doing nothing but just fun stuff together. Where I like spending all this time together, I guess it could be a stressful week for others that may not get along so well. That’s what I realized during our monorail trip.

When we got on the monorail at the CR, on our side of the car (section, or whatever you call it) was me, Lexi, Brad & Levi. On the other side was a husband, teenage daughter, wife and a man on the ride by his self that I’ll refer to as ‘Wally’ as in ‘Wally in the Wrong Place’.

The husband announced that it was his wifes birthday to everyone. I smiled at her & said ‘Happy Birthday’ :cake:. She told her DH to hush.
He announced again louder that it was his wifes birthday. She told him to shut-up. He’s laughing & yells even louder that it’s his wife’s birthday.

She’s furious now :furious:.

She starts telling him how he has tried to make a spectacle of his self throughout the whole trip. That’s why she doesn’t like him. He tries to deny it. She starts telling him EVERYTHING that he does that gets on her nerves.

Lexi is little Miss Nosey & is leaned all over into their fight :listen:. I’m trying to distract Lexi to keep her out of their conversation.

This went on during the whole Monorail trip around the Poly & GF.
Brad & Wally keep giving each other looks.

Towards the end, the wife is full blown crying. Poor Wally beside her doesn’t know what to do.

The husband is trying to comfort her & he tells her that they’ve agreed to come on this trip together for their daughter & for them to try to work it out.
Once we arrived at MK, the couple & their daughter get off 1st. Wally tells us that he had never been on the monorail before & just wanted to ride it once to see how it was.

I bet Wally will never forget his 1st monorail ride!

I will say that I saw the couple off the monorail holding hands.

We've arrived!

We find a spot on Main Street to wait for the Parade. I guess this is our break for the day. I told Brad there is a Dole Whip drink that everyone talks about. I know Brad will love it because he loves pineapple juice. I held our spot while Brad, Lexi & Levi went to get his Dole whip & the kids a snack.
Brad LOVED his Dole whip, he still talks about it. The kids got Mickey bar ice-creams :mickeybar:mickeybar. I guess because it was so hot, both of their Mickey heads fell off the stick after a couple of bites. Two snack credits wasted. So, we found popsicles for them.

Once Brad & the kids were back, they held our spot and I went shopping on Main Street. It was nice having some relaxing shopping time.
I bought mouse ears :earsboy: for a relative & put in the embroidery order. Brad wanted a coffee mug & I purchased this cute Mickey mug for him.

We had several Photopass pics made while we waited.

This pic of Brad & Levi is one of my FAVORITE of the trip!

We tried to get a jumping picture, but could never get the timing right. Levi looks awesome, but Lexi was always slow on the jump.

We’re waiting on the parade to start. The look on this ladys face cracks me up. She looks pretty tired.

WDW2010264.jpg

Brad met some guy & was talking with him while we waited for the parade. We let his kids take Brad’s spot while Brad & guy hang out in the back.

The Electrical Parade was nice but I did not like it as much as Spectromagic.

After the parade we moved to the main hub & it was way too crowded to enjoy ourselves while we waited. I can walk all day, but I can’t stand for 15 minutes w/out getting tired. I had to sit down & it was so packed I could only see people’s buttocks & not the castle .
But, once the fireworks started & I stood back up it was all good :thumbsup2.

We left after Wishes & went back to CBR & ordered a pizza from the food court.

Great trip report! I look forward to reading more...by the way, LOVE the toenails!! :)

Nice update! Must be nice to get time off for snow. Last week one day we got about 4 inches of snow overnight...no school canceled, had to get up at 6 AM and snowblow so I could get to work...another 4 inches fell during the day...8 inches of snow in about 16 hours...no one thinks twice here, just push it aside. Grew up in Massachusetts, similar temps but not as much snow as here. 4 inches there would've shut school down for 1 day. DD has only had one snow day in 2 1/2 years. The good news was skiing was awesome on Sunday. :woohoo:

Back to YOUR trip. Feel bad for the daughter of the monorail family. "Wally" and you guys get a few minutes of it...she has to live with it.:sad2:

I agree 100% with your MSEP vs Spectro comments...I didn't grow up with either of them, but will admit I saw Spectro first. Glad I saw it, but OK if they bring back Spectro sooner than later!

Nice update! Love the pic of the kids in the snow. The pic of Brad and Levi in front of the castle was too cute!

Too bad for the monorail family. I don't think Disney is the best place to work on anything. I get the pixie dust happiness making things wonderful sometimes. However, I really believe if you're miserable in something, crowds and heat aren't going to help. Hopefully that outburst was just a reaction to it all and they really don't act his way all the time. That would be rough. :sad1:

I'm so with you on Spectro being better. The music used to drive me completely nuts, but I'd much rather hear it again than this MSEP stuff. Your pics of it were awesome though! :thumbsup2

Ack-- that poor family. I hope whatever their problems were, they could work them out. Actually, poor "Wally" is more like it! Talk about awkward!
I love that picture of Brad and Levi-- precious!! The one of you and Lexi in the matching tops is great, too.
I'm with you on the MSEP. We're Spectro fans all the way!

Sounds like a busy night at MK. You should have seen if they would give Levi and Lexi another Mickey ice cream bar since they fell off the stick. Sometimes I've heard of CMs being nice like that... Something to remember for next time!

Another great update. Good trade off - hold the spot while they picked up treats - then shop while they ate them!

It is amazing how tired you can feel when you stop at Disney!

They will replace them if they fall off. happened my my DD last May as well as my friend's daughter.

Oh boy, poor Wally. And the daughter. Glad you got a good spot for the parade and Wishes-I am with you on the standing.

great updates!!!

Gotta love families on the monorail, happiest place on earth, ya right!!

Glad to hear you guys got snow! We had snow in Cincinnati but it melted today with the rain and warmer temps!

I love the PP pics!!

Poor Wally. l the "I only wanted to ride the monorail" was so sad. Still, that was an awkward situation. Funny how some people will air their "dirty laundry" so freely.

Yay for the snow day. I love the pics.

I had to have my dh get a dole whip on his last trip. He insisted no, swearing he wouldn't like them...but once I got him to have one, do you know how many snack credits he used to have one at every chance he could??? :rotfl2:

Nice parade and wishes pics!!

What a crazy monorail ride!

The picture of you and Lexi is adorable and I also love the one of Brad and Levi. Your family is just beautiful.

Nice updates! What a "memorable" monorail ride!! :rolleyes1 Levi got some great "air" on the jumping picture! For me it was great to see MSEP this last trip! I enjoy Spectro too, but had seen it a few times so the change was good. Plus DW and I had seen MSEP at DL years ago, and it was fun trying to see how much I remembered!

The snow was crazy! We still have quite a bit at the bottom of our driveway and in the shady areas, even with the rain all day today. There was a good bit less coming home from Scouts tonight though! Of course, they are predicting a slight chance for a little more this weekend...... :rolleyes1

Hi there.....:wave2: I am a fellow Carolinian(North) to your thread.:woohoo: The day you checked in, we were checking out from POR.:sad1:

Your children are precious. I hate to hear that Levi had a little fall.:sad1:

I also had my own lil Karma incident at Disney back in September. I do not like birds, and at the AK my family were persistent on me watching the birds of flight show. Well.....I mentioned throughout the show my dislike (I know, so unsportsmanlike like......I blame it on the throbbing headache) for birds. So, guess what happened to me the very next day at MK?? A bird did his/her business on me...yup, poo-poo on my shoulder. I have learned to keep my mouth shut...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I am enjoying your TR!!!! Can't wait to hear more.
