Disney Vacation Specialist vs Regular TA

Can anyone tell me the difference between booking with a Disney Vacation Specialist vs. a regular TA that books through something like Fun Sun?

A Disney Vacation Specialist will book with Disney (Walt Disney Travel Company) directly. So for starters, you have a better chance of obtaining the 'little things' such as room requests. Also, Fun Sun (or any other Canadian tour operator) acts as a third party. Translation: costs you more money.

A Disney Specialist knows that it's better (and cheaper) to book your Disney vacation and air separate. In addition; a tour operator doesn't know the 'ins and outs' of Disney like the Walt Disney Travel Company does.

Pick up the new Walt Disney Travel Company 2007 vacation book (Where Dreams Come True) and it states right in the front page:

I've only just started working with Madonna31 and I can honestly say that her experience and knowledge is a huge plus for planning this trip. Having a disney expert who's been to the park and well-experienced in Disney is invaluable!

I tried talking to a travel agent and found out I knew more about Disney than they did. I've ended up booking through Madonna31 and am confident that she KNOWS more about Disney than I do. I feel I can relax a bit about my planning because I've got her on my side looking out for the best deals for me.

My main point is to ask around and book where you feel the most confident. It's your money and your vacation, spend it where you will.
