Hello I nwas wondering what is your feedback on this insurance policy is it any good? I'm looking at booking a GT rate cruise and I'm also very aware of the coronavirus situation around the world. I also have an Italian passport, although I don't live in Italy, but I'm aware of the restrictions Chinese passport holders have had on other cruises. Anyway do you think this will cover us in any eventuality? Thanks

Sadly this is not a one size fits all answer. I'll give you my Father In Laws experience as he used DCL to cancel the second cruise of his Back to Back while on the first. It went well for him and was no additional money out of pocket.

But the longer answer is this

There are additional travel insurance companies that are not partners with the cruise line. They often include other parts of your vacation, like if you were flying in 2 days early and you plane was delayed or your luggage didn't make it. The policies should all be looked and and compared, which is not always the easiest, especially if you have pre existing health issues. Price may even be less expenseive than the provider Disney uses and offer more. Plus some credit cards provide some additional benefits that you might not be aware of. Sadly knowing what is in your policy and how they all overlap and work together is something you should understand before you go in case you have to use it.

Thanks. We are already purchasing a regular travel insurance as we will be coming from Europe. I was just looking to see if the cruise part of it was better covered by a Disney specific policy

If you already have a travel insurance it could likely be a simple addition to your existing coverage. I hope you won;t have to use it though! Happy sailing!
