I had the opportunity this week to visit the new Polynesian Bungalows as a part of a specialDisney Vacation Club event.

First, thanks for sharing this. It's a very nice review of the event. Second, I'm a little ticked off at myself and the DVC guy working at the desk I stopped at this week. I'm onsite and was invited to this event, I stopped at the desk to see if I could get some more details and he said it was no big deal...just a marketing thing with a few appetizers. I actually said "well, I'm not expecting fire eaters" and he said "no, nothing that elaborate". What do I see in the pictures...a man appearing to eat fire. Thing is, I could actually have purchased direct instead of resale this time. My wife's job change has me trying to now work around a college schedule to fit in a winter trip, had to cancel our early December at BLT.

That's frustrating, and I'm sorry it happened to you. Yes, there was a fire eater. It was almost all of the regular luau show.

I spoke with several DVC friends before attending this event and no one else was invited. I received my invitation via email the day I landed at MCO. Apparently they were picking and choosing who was invited and there was only one event unlike the Typhoon Lagoon Beach Bash which had many. Don't feel bad; others were in the same situation.

how long were you at this event? We got inited to something that sounds similar to this & are just trying to plan for how long it should take.

You have to be on the DVD prospect list to get an invite. They want to invite possible buyers not fire watchers.

I sent an email and RSVP although I wasn't invited....and we're in....but probably won't go...I wonder if someone can use our ADR...so to speak. It's scheduled for Monday, September 28 for four persons. We are at F&W and my adult daughters don't want to come back to view (we are already at the Poly to stay).

We just came back from a stay at AKL....I don't know if this event is planned for certain days only? We were invited to something similar for VGF when we were staying a different time that required a RSVP. Glad we went, but didn't buy.

In case anyone is interested, DVC does a guided tour of a bungalow and a studio at Moorea between 2:00 and 4:00, the tour is every 30 minutes. Go to the DVC desk in the lobby of Poly. The bungalows are really beautiful. Glad I did the tour, as I will never be able to stay there (and would not want to blow all my points).
