For those of you considering using the Disney Vacation Account to combine gift cards, just wanted to report that I did this successfully. I had a ton of $50 gift cards, added them to my DVA and then used the account number to purchase DVC Annual Passes, DVC discounted Halloween Party tickets and Memory Maker.

Unfortunately I didn't set up the account 120 days before my spending, so I won't get the 2% bonus, but I was able to use gift cards I bought at a 9% discount to make a $2,000 purchase. Without the DVA, Disney would have only allowed me to use two forms of payment, limiting me to one gift card per transaction.

There was still a lot of cast member confusion with the DVA, but the trick is to understand your DVA account is really just another gift card number.

Now just wish there was a way to combine the gift cards I plan to use at the park. I hate having to carry around $25 gift cards. Staying off site so can't use room charge.

That's great! I've been adding gift cards in my vacation account as well. How were you able to get such a good discount on the gift cards?

If it helps, there is a Disney Gift Card app that will help you keep track of the balances on them. I sit down with them and number the cards with a sharpie and enter them with the corresponding # into the app. We are DLR vets who stay offsite so I mostly collect the gift cards for spending in the parks and find the app to be a big help.
