Disney Vacation Account- reassure me, please!

So apparently I've never noticed that every time I add a gift card to my Disney Vacation Account it pops up with a message that a temporary hold of up to 7 business days may be placed on any new funds that you contribute to your vacation account. Well, I just deposited my last $900 in gift cards tonight, saw that message and am panicking. My 30 day mark is Friday so I can't wait 7 business days to use those funds. I'm hoping that it's referring moreso to bank transfers which can take a couple of days and not gift cards which should hit instantaneously, but I don't know.

Please, someone tell me that they have been able to use the funds to pay for a trip less than 7 days after depositing gift cards.

For gift cards deposited in the DVA, I've used my DVA immediately after putting in the gift cards and have had no issues. For deposits from a checking account, yes I could see a 7 day hold to make sure the money clears.

I had never had them hold funds until just this week. Last week I made 2 deposits, one for $600, the other for $150. All funded with gift cards. No hold put on those. Made another deposit of $985 Monday evening and got the "funds may be held for up to 7 days" thing. I was slightly freaking out even though I was still 10+ days from my pay in full date. Checked it the next morning and all funds were available and I made my final payment. I bet if you check today you'll find yours are now available as well.

Thank you guys for the reassurance! I checked online and everything looked okay so I called and they confirmed the funds were available and I was able to pay for my trip. I am now PAID IN FULL!!! It is such a great feeling!

I totally understand the momentary feeling of panic. I felt the same way when it looked like they were going to hold the funds. Yay for paid off trips for us both! It's such a freeing feeling, isn't it?

Absolutely! We have free dining, plane tickets are paid for, already have gift cards to completely cover tips and the kiddos have souvenir money they've earned and saved. All that's really left is money for a few drinks, which the half month grocery budget I'm saving from not being home during the trip should put a very nice dent in that!

Sounds like we are doing similar trips We're on the free qsdp, so no need for tip $ but Airfare was paid for months ago, final payment made this week, DS10 will be getting gift cards for his birthday to use as his spending money. All that's left for me to do is hit Sam's Club for gc to cover upgrading our tickets to AP and my own spending money, which is already set aside. It's so close I can almost taste the Dole Whips!
