Disney vacation account or add my gift cards to my disney experience as I get them?

Hi, I have a trip booked for Sept 2015. I have been getting gift cards at Target and now Sams. I have been going to my dis exp and adding them as I get them. Is that a good way to do it or should i set up a DVA? Any advice about what is the best way to keep adding gift cards until our trip is paid off would be great.

The advantage to the DVA is getting the bonus gift cards ($20 for every $1000).

You have to run the dates when your final payment is due, but if you opened an account today, it would be early August before any payment counted toward the $1000 bonus program.

No, that's not how it works. The bonus doesn't have anything to do with when then funds are expended.

It may not have initially, but it does now. Terms and conditions say account has to be open 120 days at the time of spending. Folks have posted clarification from Disney on this. See post 12 http://www.disboards.com/threads/anybody-use-the-new-disney-vacation-account-fund-yet.3397758/

Just to be clear: If you spend out of a DVA before 120 days, none of those payments count toward the bonus. In my case, I am waiting to buy tickets to MNSSHP until June when my account will have been opened 120 days, thus making those funds eligible for the bonus. If I bought them today, those funds would not be eligible for the bonus.

I assume the above post is referring to applying payment towards a package. There's no way to add gift cards to you MDE account.

I have applied 3 disney gift cards using MDE.....
log in
click my reservations and tickets
Look under hotel reservations and click "make a payment"
click Add a Disney Gift Card or Disney Vacation Account
enter card number
