Disney Vacation Account limits and holds

Just a heads up for anyone using DVA to pay for your cruise. There is a limit on how much you can deposit on a single day of $1000, and a temporary hold can be placed on that deposit for up to 7 business days. So if you are getting close to you PIF date and want to use DVA to get the Disney gift cards for OBC, plan accordingly.

I just went to make a large contribution and found out about the limit, so will have to split the deposit up over several day. Fortunately, I still have plenty of time to do this, even allowing for the hold, but the deposit limit was not something I was aware of (or had forgotten about), so I thought a reminder might help others in the same boat.

I got a pop up confirming my $1,000 deposit that included a reminder that they could put a hold on that deposit for up to seven business days. I am planning to use my DVA account to pay off the cruise, and, assuming that there is no hold, that is an immediate transfer from DVA to DCL. There is also a note about allowing time to receive any balance you may have on a Disney gift card (for your OBC for example). I don't remember the exact time frame, but it seems like you should order the card well in advance of your trip.
