We're thinking about buying into Saratoga Springs and I was thinking...

Can I pay for my points with my Disney Visa? I figured that's 130 Reward Dollars I can earn if I do it-almost one child's park pass! For free! :teeth:

We would pay it off the following month, so there wouldn't be any interest charges.

Has anyone ever done this?

We did it for our recent add-on.

We're going in two days and the rewards will help to finance some of our "Magic" :)

You also have the option every year of paying your dues in a lump sum at the beginning of the year -- and you can pay with your Disney Visa.

Another thing to keep in mind -- Disney Visa rewards can also be used to pay those dues. ;)

Thanks, New Yawka,

I see you, too, are from Joisey. I also see that you've been to Disney a few times;) .

Tell me, do you drive often? And if so, do you drive through the night or stop somewhere to break up the trip. Now that we have 4 kids, I don't see us getting on an airplane very often.

Thank you, Pam,

I didn't know you could pay dues with the Reward Dollars. That is such a great idea!

When we bought last year, we were able to use the Disney Visa to get the rewards point and get 0% financing on the amount for 6 months. Bank One tells me that this deal is no longer available :( . Assuming your credit limit will accommodate, by all means get the extra rewards points.

I did not know the Visa could be used for the dues.....HMMMMM nice to know!

I would say use the card and get the reward $!!!!!!!!!!

I got smart last month and payed for my 2 kids college tuition bills with my Disney Visa. $52 Disney Rewards. I wished I would have thought about it last fall, I could have payed their housing bill and the fall tuition bill. I definately will have to keep that card in mind next fall when my 3rd child starts college!!!! Wonder if I can rack up enough reward dollars to pay for park passes?!?!?

We used our Chase card for our BWV purchase. Unfortunately, we didn't realize that with our other purchases, we "maxed out" the benefits of miles for that month, and didn't earn all we could by the purchase. So, in case you have any limits to the amount of rewards perhaps you can do things in stages, or with 2 cards or whatever.

You wouldn't believe the smile on my face when DISer member Nick told me that I could buy my SSR points with Visa, Mastercard or Amex. The 10% downpayment was made with the grocery store Mastercard -- that will be some free groceries there. The balance will be paid with the Frequent Flyer club Visa card -- giving me a free "short haul" (Toronto - D.C.) flight right there. You have to love buying real estate on credit cards.

Pam....I didn't know this. Now I know what my rewards will be used for in those years that I'm not buying an AP! :)

Thanks, everyone!

Like Royal Canadian said: "You have to love buying real estate on credit cards."

I guess I just felt weird buying real estate with a credit card. But I think we'll do it.

We've never been a DVC member before, but I think we're going to take the plunge into Saratoga Springs!

Wish us luck!
