Just received a call and we were upgraded to a Cat. 5 from a Nav. Verandah room (Cat. 7). They were making changes and called to see if we would mind. We are so happy - anyone stay on Deck 7 in a Cat. 5? Will we be pleased with it?
I had never had any type of veranda, but on the sept 18th eastern had cat 5 on deck7. We loved the location. Only two floors up to the pools, and two floors down, kids club. We took the stairs to eat, we tried ( and failed) to burn off those extra calories
All in all, I think you should love it. The only problem for us now is going back to a porthole...lol
We're on the 10/24 Wonder and we received a call that we have a complimentary upgrade from a category 6 to a category 4!!! It's so exciting!!! I was bouncing off the walls when they called!!!
We've been upgraded once as well (from Cat 3 to Cat 1). I found it odd that they would call us to offer the upgrade rather than simply assigning the upgraded cabin. When I asked why they called I was informed that some passengers had complained about being upgraded!
I can think of a few reasons why some cruisers might not want a different catagory than they reserved (don't want a balcony with children or want one side of the ship vs the other)...but I have to admit that I've never met an upgrade I didn't like.
