Higgs.... his mother didn't sign, but she did allow him to do this to be accepted.....

Oh so very close....

:smooth:

Did he become emancipated?

Karen.... no he didn't become emancipated... good guess though ;)....

:)

Karen... I'll just add, it is something you wouldn't expect from "Walt Disney".

:smooth:

He "adjusted" his DOB on the form his parents signed. By changing the year from 1901 to 1900, he was old enough to join the Red Cross. Yep, our own Walt created a forgery.

Yes Jay.... :earseek: His mother allowed him to falsify his birth date on the application. More than likely relieved that he would be driving an ambulence instead of carrying a rifle.

Higgs got the first part and Jay finished it up....

Go on guys.... you're up :p

:smooth:

whoa......this was getting lost way back on page 3 so bumping it up with an out of turn question....till Higgs and Jay get back.

In The Apple Dumpling Gang, Mr. Donovan loses a horseshoe-shaped diamond stickpin in a poker game. What character from a previous film wears the same piece of jewelry?

Wow...that is a good question....

Let me guess that is Dick VanDyke's banker character from Mary Poppins???

I think it was Doc Terminus in Pete's Dragon.

That was a good question. Took me forever to find an answer!!!

yeah!!!!!!! there is someone else around over the holiday weekend.....DisneyBen you are correct . it was Doc Terminus

whew.....found this way back on page 6....bumping up for disneyBen....higgs22 or jay....

Good Morning :) To keep our thread alive, I'll toss out an easy Monday morning question...

Where did Walt borrow the phrase "Nine Old Men" from, and name Disney's Nine Old Men.

:)

Mornin' MickeyBabe, was beginning to think everyone ran away the last few days...glad to see ya...

to attempt your question.
Where did Walt borrow the phrase "Nine Old Men" from, and name Disney's Nine Old Men

Walt called his key animators in the 50's his Nine old Men after Franklin D. Roosevelt's nine old men on the Supreme court. Walt's nine old men were
Les Clark, Marc Davis, Ollie Johnson, Milt Kahl, Ward Kimball, Eric Larson, John Lounsbery, Woolie Reitherman and Frank Thomas.

Yes mousefan, it was a quiet weekend here. quieter than usual, which is hard to believe :p

mousefan, you nailed it....

You're up.....

:smooth:

In the film Aristocats , The character of Scat Cat was voiced by Scatman Crothers, but the character was originally designed to be voiced by who?

your right.....your turn...(nothing like having our own private game here......WHERE is everyone?????)

Probably recovering from the long weekend :p

Walt's family moved to Chicago when his father made an investment in what?

:p

MBabe did his father invest in newspaper routes:eek:

MBabe is right ... I think we all are settling back into our routines after a long weekend.

Jen... not newspaper routes...that came later...

:smooth:
