Disney Trivia...Let's Play!

Ah Ha..... Now I just found some very interesting trivia.....

The movie in question...Chitty Chitty Bang Bang...has the distinction of being the first non-Disney to feature songs by the Sherman Brothers. :earseek:

So, if we are lucky, the Dreaded Black monorail doesn't make stops here on the Disney Trivia Thread

Just to get the question completed before the DTSP get wind of it :p.....

mousefan....Dick VanDyke's character was named for Caractacus, the last independent ruler of England before the Roman conquest of southern England.

;)

Hmmmm...I thought Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang was a non-Disney movie....but since it is such a cool movie...we'll let it go this time :) :D

Anyway....I think we have one active question out there...I'll say that Super Bowl XVIII (19) had a Disney-produced half-time show...:)

sorry not the XVIII one , that on was Disney's salute to the silver screen super stars....

Thanks mousefan :)

What are the three "Gifts" that the good fairies give the infant Princess in Sleeping Beauty?

:smooth:

Flora presented her with the gift of beauty
Fauna presented her with the gift of song
Merryweather presented her a gift by changing Maleficent's evil spell so that she didn't die , she would just sleep until awakened by love's first kiss.

mousefan... you are correct :)

Looks like you're up......

:)

Thank you........

In the 1940 movie Pinocchio, Lampwick, the red-headed boy whom Pinocchio befriends at Pleasure Island is a caricature of what Disney animator?

mousefan.... Animator Fred Moore drew Lampwick as something of a self-caricature.

:)

Thanks mousefan....

What did Walt Disney do during WWI? Why? And in light of the second answer, how was he able to do that?

:)

Hmmm...Walt Disney made training films for the Army during WWII...and the reason he was able to do that is because the Army had taken over his studio....Is that what you were looking for????

Nope Higgs.... here is some caffine buddy, read the question again ;)..... I was looking for the first World War :p

:smooth:

Ahhh...I see...

Walt was an ambulance driver in France at the end of WWI...he was able to do that because the Red Cross lowered the age limit to 17 year old because of the great demand for people...

Higgs...you're almost there....

Yes he became an Ambulance driver because he couldn't enlist due to being underage.

But the year was 1917, and Walt was sixteen.... still to young for even the ambulance corps.

How was he able to sign up for that?

:smooth:

Higgs.... his mother didn't sign, but she did allow him to do this to be accepted.....

Oh so very close....

:smooth:
