Disney Trip May 23 - 28, 2016

Hello All:
Planning my trip for Disneyland on above days. Due to Grad night, I moved by trip to May 23 - 28, 2016 from June 6-10, 2016. Staying at Anaheim Inn and Suites. It will be myself, daughter and her best friend. (17 year olds) Trying to save on meals some and was wondering if there was a grocery store or convenience store close so that we can buy some breakfast items and snacks. I understand the continental breakfast is crowded and sparse at the hotel. (not complaining here, just wanting to be prepared). Also, what restaurants are closeby in case we wanted to do an early breakfast or dinner other than the park. For dining reservations, how soon can I make a reservation for Goofy's Kitchen??? Thought I would do this one only as the girls probably won't be interested in the others. Is there a central location to get pictures with the Princesses? At Disneyworld, there was a location right off the entrance where we took pictures with Mickey and Minnie along with the Princesses. Any other money saving tips??? I thought we would go ahead and get the Park Hopper since it is about $40.00 extra. I think worth the money and the girls can do what they want. I'm actually looking forward to having some time alone in Disney to look at shops and take pictures. Thanks to all who might answer.

Will you have a car? If you will you can drive to Target on Harbor. There is also a Food Maxx on Katella. If not I would imagine there is a convienence store nearby. I'm not sure where Anaheim Inn is? Do you mean Anaheim Plaza?

I will not have a car. We are staying at the Desert Inn Anaheim Inn and Suites. I believe it is right across the street so I was hoping there was something close to buy food or get milk etc. Anyone know? Is there a McDonalds close?

Yes, there is a McDonalds just a half block up from your hotel. It's the only place DS7 will eat when were are there, LOL! Take a right when you exit your hotel and walk past the cross walk, it is just past the Camelot Inn. A lot of the hotels have convenience stores attached but they are often very expensive. I think there is a 7-11 if you walk the opposite direction, and there is a CVS on the corner of Harbor and Katella, on the bottom level of the Springhill Suites. I think those places would be your best bets.

There are a few central locations to meet the princesses. Fantasy Faire in DL has the Royal Welcome where you can meet 3 princesses. Sometimes there are only two though. I think the usual ones are Belle, Aurora and Ariel. I'm not 100% sure though so you may want to do a search on that. In DCA you meet Anna and Elsa at the Animation Academy. There are FPs for that, but I don't think it's always needed. There is also the character breakfast/lunch at Ariel's Grotto in DCA. That's where ALL the princesses are (except for A&E), but it's expensive. You can book character meals 60 days in advance.

Some other money savings tips: pack snacks! If you are checking luggage, pack some extra granola bars, apples, jerky, candy, or other items that travel well. Also, check out Earl of Sandwich in DTD. You can get awesome sandwiches for a lot less than in the parks. They used to have a deal where if you joined their mailing list they would send you a coupon for a free sandwich, but I'm not sure they do that anymore. Do you bank at Chase? If so, then you can get one of their Disney Debit Cards for free and it offers 10% off at certain dining locations as well as 10% off on purchases over $50 at certain stores. You can also get a free character photo at their special meet and greet areas.

I stayed at the Desert Inn this past summer on our trip and the continental breakfast wasn't too crowded on any day. There was never a long line for food. The hard part is that there is not a lot of seating in the breakfast area. So if you can grab it to go on the walk to the park or take it back to your room, you should be good in the time it takes to get something to eat. Each morning we ate breakfast there. They had

Orange/apples/bananas
pastries/mini muffins
hard boiled eggs
bread for toast
cereal

There are two toasters there. Sometimes that is where the hold up in the line was.

There as also juice, coffee, and milk.

There is a Starbuck's in DTD and one in each park. In DL they have Starbuck's in the Market House on Main St. and in DCA it's at Fiddler, Fifer & Practical café on Buena Vista St. I don't think there are any on Harbor Blvd.
