Hello! My friends and I were thinking about what we should do for a graduation trip, and we thought that Disney would be really fun! I was just wondering if someone could give me a breakdown on the budget I should have. Is 4000$-5000$ reasonable? We most likely will not stay on the resort or rent a vehicle (my boyfriend has a car and the lives in the state of Florida), but we will have to fly in and we will be eating out all the time. Any input you have is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Hi there. There are so many variables on this. To determine an estimate do the following:

1. Price out airfare from where you are flying from.
2. How may people are going - this will depend on accomodations.
3. How many days are you going - this will depend on tickets to get.
4. What time of year are you going - this will depend on discounts.

Once you get this info - then it is easier to research. There are many levels of resorts both outside of Disney and Inside Disney. Basically the airfare is the one thing you can't change and the tickets. Resorts and Food can be budget or all out. Let us know more info and then we can help. (Also, is that $4000-$5000 for you and your friends or just you and your boyfriend?)

Edit - I see it is 5 Adults. Will you all stay in the same room or get separte rooms?

I would start by pricing it all out. See what airfare is running right now and check out hotel prices in the area (try Kayak for both). Then I would budget 50 a person per day for food if you are going to eat out all the time. Typical CS meals in the park cost 12 to 15 bucks a meal. Budgeting 50 would allow for some reasonably priced sit down meal and snacks. Finally check out undercover tourist for ticket prices based on your number of days, park hopping, waterpark option, etc. After all of that you should have a pretty good idea what the trip is going to cost you.

Welcome to the DIS!

Even though you said you probably would not stay on-site, I'd encourage you to think more about it. With 5 people, there are likely to be times when you don't all want to do the same thing at the same time. Someone may not feel well and need to go back to his/her room, or someone wants to sleep late while others want to hit the parks early. I think that staying on Disney property gives you more flexibility and allows everyone in your party to do what they want to do. Also, you'd get free shuttle from the airport to the resort and back again without having to depend on your boyfriend to pick you up and have room for all your luggage.

Just my suggestion! Hope you can work out a plan and have a fun trip!
