Disney Treasure - Some notes that maybe useful for others

Yes people were lining up very early, we were there 60 minutes before the first show and we were nowhere near the front of the line and we were going for the upper level not even trying to get prime seats down the bottom in front. From all reports the downstairs line was spanning the length of the ship.

Yikes! This makes me happy for the Royal protocol of reserving your shows. More planning perhaps but we’ve never waited more than 10 minutes in a line for a show.

That said, we are very excited for Treasure. Hopefully the show is worth the wait.

So is each deck themed differently? A Nemo section is perfectly themed for a Caribbean cruise.

We were on the1/18 sailing in an interior room on Deck 10, 10071, and heard nothing from Deck 11. I agree with a lot of what you said, but the Skipper bar was too small for all of the activities there, it spilled out into the walk ways. The food was overall very good. And my wife and I both liked it a lot more than the Wish. And the truly best Entertainment was Coriander and Sage, we saw them every chance that we could, especially the Adults Only show.

How is everyone dealing with no walking/jogging track for a whole week? 6 days wait to get a seat at the Mansion Parlor seems annoying, no outdoor exercise probably worse for me.

I'm no longer a runner but still try to walk 4-5 miles daily at home. When on a cruise, DH and I only do the stairs so that really helps our cardio since we're usually on the 12th deck. Last month on the Treasure, I'd walk on the treadmill, walk on the 11th deck, walk on the beach in port (Jost Van Dyck and Trunk Bay were both beautiful!) and when it was rough/windy/rainy/inclement outside, walked in the passageway on the 10th deck and still managed to get in my exercise.

While not as nice and relaxing as outside on the traditional walking/jogging track, walking the hallways, as DH and I started to do after dinner on the Wish when we sailed it, allows us to appreciate our fellow cruisers' creativity with door decor and there's no need to avoid joggers or shuffleboard players so tiny silver lining, I suppose.

When you get to the port, there is check-in prior to security. Once you are through this, that’s ALL you need to do. You do NOT have to go to the desks in the terminal. So many people were queuing up for this, only to be told they were already checked in. I guess if you want to upgrade or make a change you could go to these desks.

Well, the cruise does stop in various ports. That offers at least 3 days worth of walking/jogging opportunities.

Port trips are why you're over paying for the cruise, hard to justify getting off and going through customs multiple times. I've run at various ports, but only as a means to rack up the number of different countries that I've run in. 3 people in my family run, it's an important part of our day., so skipping a week is not an option. Designing a cruise ship without an outdoor running loop is asinine. We've booked a trip on the Treasure. but we thought long an hard given the lack of a running loop. It's hard from be to believe the rest of the ship will be good enough to bring us back.

At the resort all they did was tick us off on a list. When we got to the port the Disney staff prior to security checked passports (but interestingly not ESTA - though we had to put all that in via online checkin completed weeks earlier) and made sure our Disney magicband+ would work on ship. Everyone (no matter arrival style) would pass through these staff, as they then go through security. These people give you a boarding group number. When we get through security and then upstairs to terminal, we asked about joining the line that formed for the desks but we were told we didn’t need to line up as we were checked in downstairs and then the staff member said she had no idea why a line was forming for the desks.

I pointed it out because this was different to our previous cruise (4 years ago) where we did security first and then checked in upstairs at the desks. We would have wasted a good 30 minutes in that line for nothing. I got to spend that 30 minutes lining up for the ladies toilet

I do admit what I don’t is if it changes for people with later PATs, maybe those pre-security people disappear. Maybe because we were on a Disney bus and they are all arriving early, maybe the process is different early in the day.

We take the DCL bus from MCO and when we arrive they escort us in and before security someone looks at our documents and then we go thru security then up the escalator and wait for BG#. Haven’t been to the check in desk at the terminal since the old days.

The numbers are for your 1st restaurant, 2nd restaurant and 3rd. You will get assigned which is 1 (and the others) and find out when you are on board. On the same sailing everyone is 1231231 (how you rotate through the restaurants), but a third of the people 1 will be cocoa, third 1923 and third marvel. I believe this is for western Caribbean and eastern has a slightly different rotation.

That is how you rotate, 1 is your first restaurant, 2 second. The app will tell you which restaurant to go the first night and all Other nights.

We were also on the January 11th Treasure and absolutely loved it. We had been on the Wish 3 times before and I was slowly warming up to the Wish....I did not really care for it the first time as it was so, so different than the other ships. I did learn to love and appreciate the Wish once I stopped comparing it and just enjoying it. That said the Treasure blew me away. We booked a very last minute trip....booked on New Year's Eve day for the January 11th cruise so 10 days out.

We never received luggage tags due to the short time before the cruise but were able to get them (after many trys) at the bell services desk at Coronado Springs resort.

Agree with OP's review...spot on. We did hit the Haunted Mansion bar a few times. It was packed the first day but after that we were able to get a seat for our party of 5 a few times during the week. I think the fish tank was one of my favorite parts....it fascinated me!!

The Moana show was very good....we lined up for the balcony at 5 for a 6 pm show and it was packed. There were about 25 people already on line before we got there. My guess is a technical reason the matinee was cancelled. Even during the 6 pm show there was some issues with lighting. Poor Maui had no spotlight on him for a whole song....he was singing in shadow. The set was really amazing.

Our dining rotation was Marvel, Coco, 1923, repeat. That put is in Coco for formal night on Sunday and 1923 for semi-formal night on Thursday. Pirate night was Grand Cayman night (Tuesday). Our assembly station was in 1923. Our cabin were connecting on Deck 2 aft. We really loved, loved, loved this location. They were right off the aft elevator lobby. 2618 was Aladdin themed and 2620 was Pocohontas I believe.

I did have one complaint with Sarabi, the adult show lounge (Luna on the Wish). The tables they had every few seats were blocking the rows so you literally had to climb over them....you could not go around them as there was no room. Seats in the middle of the rows were being left empty as you could not get to them. It was dangerous too. We saw people tripping over them and saw a few drinks knocked over by people trying to swing their legs over them. I have attached a pic. It was like this in the rows facing both towards the front and on the sides of the lounge as well. As you can see you can't get around these tables. They were stupid.

Other than that we loved the Treasure!!!!

Western on the treasure is 1231123 for our cruise in April.
Eastern on the treasure is 1231231. But after reading different reports it sounds like it is changing from cruise to cruise, but I can’t imagine that.

Did they not do beer cocktails? it was just beer? I don't like beer as well but that was the only tasting I was able to get and from reviews on other cruises they normally do two beer cocktails at the end.

It depends on who's running the tasting. They get to pick what is offered. So one might have offered beer cocktails but that doesn't mean they all will. You can do the same type of tasting, sometimes even on the same sailing, and get different drinks.

Oh, I'll dislike those in May for sure. I'm glad I saw them now, I agree with what you've said and will probably be saying the same thing! At least the seats look more comfortable that the stupid chairs they have in Evolution on the Dream!

Just off of the Treasure 2/1-2/8 cruise with some thoughts:
Be careful, there is sickness. People are not being truthful on the health questionnaire. Plenty of coughing the first day. Family in next cabin were very sick on embarkation day. They seemed confined to their cabin with food trays stacked 4 high in the hall every day and terrible hacking. Last day white PPE suited spaceman came to clean the cabin. Our stateroom host told us she had several cabins that required that. A guest Services CM said crew was getting sick. A few guests wore masks.
Moana was great! Don't miss it, but try to sit as center theater as possible. We saw it twice, second time off-center and as you can imagine not as thrilling. 3pm show had bigger line than 6pm show.
I usually love the music performers but this time was amazing. There is a guitarist who sings named Ryan who is unbelievable, along with his mates, if you like Jimi Hendrix and Guns and Rose's type hard rock. I've never heard anything like this before on DCL. They play in Skippers and jazz shows in the Grand Hall. Enjoyed the Haunted Mansion bar during first three days by going during dining times and at midnight.

They were considering opening up Palo brunch on port days due to the demand!!
