Hi, I'm expecting a baby and trying to find a stroller/carseat/baby carrier system to purchase. I saw in the K-mart ad this morning a disney magical beginnings travel system and I wanted to know if any of you have used/seen it or could recommend another stroller system. I like Disney so I thought of this one. I'm not too worried about the cost, any system under $200 is fine (MIL is paying for it).

Personally, I'd stay away from the carseat/stoller combos. Usually, you sacrifice steering and small fold when you buy the combo. I'd purchase the carseat separately and then purchase the stroller. If you prefer a stroller that can take an infant seat and want to keep it under $200, you could purchase a Graco Snugride and the Peg Perego Pilko. Also, there is a yahoo group for StrollerSwap where people buy and sell used strollers. With the better strollers, you can usually resell them. Usually the carseat/stroller combos have no value once you have finished with them.

Just my 2 cents,
Jennifer

I agree, don't do it. Most kids only use the smaller carseat until they are 6-7 mos. old, but the stroller gets used regularly for most kids until they are 3 (and longer for situations like WDW.)

Put your money into the most compact, lightweight, and easy-to-steer stroller you can get. By definition, that excludes ANY travel system sold by a US brand. (There are some Pliko & Chicco combinations sold in Europe that are great, but they are not sold for the US market.) The only "travel system" combo that I can recommend is the Maclaren Global, and I still think you can do better going with a separate carseat & stroller.

Most people don't know this, but almost ANY stroller that has a napper bar and a recline of at least 120 degrees can hold an infant carseat. If you buy a very large-sized man's belt (or a saddle girth from a horseman's supply), you can secure the seat tightly to the stroller with no trouble at all.
