Disney Transportation Question....

I am staying off-site and have a hopper pass which says it includes use of Disney transportation. But I'm wondering how exactly that works. One day we are going to visit the Boardwalk hotel and I know they have a visitor's parking lot. But I'm wondering because there are a few places at MGM we would like to try for lunch, whether or not I would be permitted to take the boat they have at the Boardwalk to go to MGM and then go back to the Boardwalk? It seems like it should be okay because it is Disney transportation but I'm wondering if they'll ask for resort ID or something which we don't have. Do we show our hopper passes??? I appreciate any clarification. Thanks!

The parking is easier at MGM, so you may want to just park there. At the Boardwalk you only have a three hour window unless you are staying there, so unless you can do everything you want in those 3 hrs, you will want to park at MGM.

The boat dock is pretty close to the park entrance and the parking lot. If you were to choose to park over at Epcot, it will be a long way to the park entrance, then all the way thru Future World to the Int'l Gateway between the UK and Canada, then to the boat dock (or another 5 mins walk to BW).

Your hoppers will get you onto any Disney transportation, whether it be boat, bus or monorail, so sit back and enjoy the ride. We love the boat, and it is a major reason we choose to stay at BWV (that and the fact that we own DVC there). Good luck!

They do not ask for ID or check Resort ID on the boats - at least they never have in the 5 years we have bee staying at the BWV. FWIW, you can also easily walk between MGM and the BW. There is a very nice walking path along the canal and it takes just 15-20 minutes to walk, depending on how fast you walk. We always beat the boat, even if one is just leaving as we depart. LOL!

There really isn't much to do at the BW in the mornings and you may not even be allowed to park in the resort lot. The guards often direct non-resort guests to the lot across the street instead and that is quite a distance to the BW. Way too many people try to park at the BW to go to EPCOT (I know you are not) and that makes it difficult for the hotel guests to find parking.

I agree with pumpkinboy - just park at MGM and walk or boat back and forth to the BW.

Best wishes -
