Disney Transportation Question

If you opt to use the Disney transportation can you stay at a hotel the night before you depart? I was thinking we would stay somewhere the night before & after the cruise.. is the Disney transportation an option still?

Still so many questions to answer!

Also what would be the best alternative for a family of 6 for transport? Either to an airport hotel or a hotel at the port.

First welcome to the DIS boards, You will find a wealth of information here for your up coming trip.

Now the meat of the question. Well with a family of six, it is definitley cheaper to use private limo or rental car service.

There are two web sites hosted by DIS members which highlight this. They are www.dcltribute.com and www.castawayclub.com.

There are many hotels in the area of the airport and also the port. It's your choice. You can also go stay at wdw over night, especially if you have a rental. Budget and Avis have rental locations near the port with shuttle service back to the ships.

I'm using budget this trip as we will be staying at the Hyatt at the airport, going to WDW for the day before and then driving to the port the next day. We decided to use Disney transfers for the trip back to the airport than hassle with cars or limo service.

The option is yours. Good luck, There are many threads on this board about the hotels both at the port and airport and car/travel services to the port.

Thanks! After I posted lastnight I figured out how to search and found oodles of information on hotels. I'm an avid Priceline junky so I can't bring myself to pay full price on hotels!

Do you know if there's much to do around the airport area? If we fly in & stay at the airport I don't want to be totally bored without a car. With a family of 6 it is hard to just rent a cheap car since we need a small bus to get us all around.

I think I'm finally into this "Disboards groove"... only 1 year and 5 months more of obsessing over this! I've never obsessed over a vacation like this before! But then again I've never gone on a DCL vacation before either!! (Also never spent this much $$ on a vacation....)
