Disney Transportation for 18 month old

Help! I am taking my three dd's 7,5,& 18 mos, to Disney the first week of Feb. I need to decide what to haul the 18 month around in. Here are my options:

1) Full size stroller. Might be able to fit it in the van if I have to

2) Umbrella stroller. Will probably have to get a new one as my current one makes me curse after two minutes of pushing

3) Get a carrier/back pack??? In theory, this sounds cool as I can make my dh wear it, but, aren't they expensive? Also, if my dd isn't used to it, will it drive her (and us) nuts?

Any experiences are appreciated. Looking forward to our trip.

I'm going in a few days and have an 18 month old too. We thought about a backpack carrier (not sure if that's what you mean) but we thought what would we do with it when riding rides like Pooh, Peter Pan where all of us can ride. Strollers have the stroller 'pen' where everyone parks it.

I bought the Graco Citilite from Babies R Us for about $60-70 (I think) for this trip. It's roomy, reclines fully, has a great basket compared to others, it's super lightweight, I've been using it all over town and pick it up with 2 fingers to toss in my trunk and steers like a dream!! Has a larger canopy than any other lightweight or umbrella so napping will be cozier. I love mine!!

I've looked at the ultra ez hip carrier from onestepahead.com. I've actually ordered it but not sure if it will get here in time!!

Thanks! I was thinking of upgrading my unbrella stroller and I will look into the one you mentioned.

DEFINITELY go with the full size stroller. You will be able to put purchases in the basket, as well as snacks and rain ponchos or whatever else you decide to bring.

Also, it will be more comfortable for your toddler to rest in, and my guess is your 5 year old may also decide to sit in it from time to time. It is well worth hassle.

FYI -- we went in Oct and I bought a full size stroller at a consignment store (after thoroughly checking it) and plan on reselling it once I'm sure we will no longer need it. This might work for you, too!

We are taking our 20 month old in 2 weeks. We are bringing our umberella stroller. We brought it with us on a vacation when she was 14months and found it much easier. We have a small backpack that we put on back with diapers, change of clothes etc.... It fits perfect on the back of the stroller. She seemed to like being so upright. I have a backpack and used it frequently before I got pregant on my second child. I loved using my backpack but I would not recommend it for long periods if you haven't used one before. I bought mine at a used store for $10, it took me a while before I could go on long walks. I wouldn't recommend taking it on and off all the time, but it could be helpful for the parades and fireworks.

depending on how well she walks, you may want some sort of hip sling for lines and places where the stroller can't go (lots of parts of Epcot), we found it very useful with our baby as even at 3 months she gets heavy if we are carrying her in our arms, at 18 months she would get VERY heavy if you had to carry her a lot!

We also used our Jeep Wrangler umbrella stroller for our 11 mo. old and it's going back with us in less than 2 weeks now she's 21 mo old. She loves the stroller, and it reclines so she naps in it great. It has a canopy and a small basket, and we too use a backpack for a diaper bag and just leave it on the stroller unless we have to park the stroller for an attraction or restaurant.

The Wrangler runs $40-80 depending on where you're looking. I've seen it online fairly inexpensivley. I would recommend this stroller to *anyone* - we managed to bend a wheel and couldn't fix it. I went online to their website, filled out a form and they sent us a new wheel within 2 weeks! They have awsome service and the stroller has lasted very, very well.
