We are going on a 7 night land and sea in May, and I was wondering is it better to do Disney transportation to and from airport to hotel and pier or should we book something on our own? Also, has anyone stayed at the Beach club Resort? I don't know much about it? Thanks.

We like to use a Towncar service - you get personal service, and they're not that expensive.

I would recommend:
Yourride
and
Tiffany Towncar

You will love the Beach Club! Cape May restaurant serves breakfast and dinner, buffet style, and it's wonderful! The pool is a waterpark (Stormalong Bay) - very fun! The location is great - right next to Epcot!

Have a great time!

I have found that if you have a family of four, you can rent a towncar cheaper than pay for the Disney Transfers. We have three people and still do the towncars for the personalized service.

In addition, when we are wanting to do a little sightseeing on the way to the port or on the way to the airport, we will rent a car. There are two or three companies which will give you a fair rate on a one way rental between the port and airport.

Yeah for families and bigger groups a limo/towncar service seems like the best deal. For couples the best deal seems to be either rental car (what we did) or just use the Disney transfers.

And if you mean the Beach Club as in the Beach & Yacht Club, I've never stayed there but it looks VERY VERY nice. If I could pick my resort (money no object) I'd probably pick the Beach Club first. It has easy walking access to the World Showcase portion of Epcot (where a lot of the good restaurants are at), boat service to MGM and you get the gorgeous view of the Boardwalk across the lake from you at night (assuming you have a lakeview room.) Plus, the pools the Beach & Yacht Club share are by far the nicest IMO. Very nice. The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't have monorail access like the Deluxe resorts near Magic Kingdom. Disney really needs to expand their monorail system to all the deluxe resorts and to all major parks and centers like Downtown Disney.

I too would recommend a towncar service. We always use Happy Limo, and I can't imagine doing it any other way. We used to take the Disney bus, and it's nice to see the video, but that is outweighed by sometimes having to wait for a bus or two and the possibility of sitting in front of kickers (happened to us a couple of times). Go for a towncar!

I would also recommend the towncar as a specific cost thing, but, there is a certain painlessness to using the transfers with the split land/sea trip. IF you get the transfers, you also get total managing of your luggage. What this means is you get tags to put on your luggage before you leave home. Disney will collect your luggage for you, bring it to the resort, and, upon your day of disembarkation to the Wonder, they will also bring it there for you. And the buses are not the resort buses, but touring buses and make for a pleasant no hassle mode of traveling. And, if you get this for the way back and are one of a number of airlines(we always fly American, and they do this), you can check your bags for your trip home right at the port and get your boarding pass immediately. All you'll have to do at the airport is go thru security and go to your gate. When we have no planned detours we do use the Disney transfers, but when we want to do otherwise we do usually get towncar or rental. It's all in what your idea of the trip is.

Thanks to all for your advice. I think the towncar might be better if it was actually just me, my husband and kids, but my parents and my inlaws are coming with us and not having to handle the luggage might be worth having to wait for another bus.
Thanks again for info on the beach club. I was wondering if anyone has pictures?

the Beach Cub is very nice u will not be disapointed with that resort, and if u can go out to dinner across the way at the boardwalk is the Flying Fish Restruant... the fish is the best .......
