I'm sure the answer is out here some where already but I haven't come across it as of yet. Recommendations please!

A family of 10+, we are currently flying in the day of the cruise and using non-disney shuttle to get to port. As of now we will not arrive into Orlando until 12pm or so (if everything goes as planned). Should we consider using the disney shuttle instead? Would this give us a little more "insurance"? Will they wait for us if there is a problem with our flight?

After reading posts I am going to check on the possibility of coming in the night before. Don't know if possible.

I guess what I'm trying to say...what are the pros and cons of using the Disney shuttle from MCO?

Thanks to all!

I have a similiar situation...but slightly different.

Because I was designated as the planner for 4 day DisneyWorld then 3 day DisneyCruise excursion for a family of 16 in-laws ( BTW...never volunteer for this planning ... its a pain in the neck ), I had the envious task of figuring out how to get the 16 of us from DisneyWorld to the Port and then back to the airport ( since we would arrive at 8am and our flight doesn't leave until the next day ).

After figuring out how much it cost to book transfer from DisneyWorld to the Port and then back to the Airport the next day ( $60 a person ). I calculated that it would be significantly cheaper ( but a little less convenient ) to rent 3 huge minivans ( about $100 for each minivan for 1 day ) through Avis to go from Orlando to the Port and then from the Port back to the Airport hotel.

It would give us the option to stay have a vehicle after we get back from the cruise for that 1 extra day of rest before flying out.

Although I could have done things a little bit easier with the Disney transfers...there would have been logistical issues since we weren't staying at one of the Resorts that Disney Cruise picks up from.

From what I recall, when I did this on my honeymoon...where it was just me and my wife....it was easy to take the transfers for Disney from the Port to the airport and then rent a car to get to my hotel.

For a family of 10+, it maybe more difficult as ( I think ) the shuttle ONLY takes you from the Port to the Airport. If you are flying out that day...it may not be an issue. If not...then you may need to take a shuttle from the airport once you arrive to your airport ( hence another transfer ). For me....dragging aroudn 8 kids and 8 adults from transfer to transfer is not easy.

Hope this helps.
