Trying to budget :)

Does anyone know how much the Disney Train and/or Cinderella Castle costs in Downtown Disney? I'd like to buy them for Christmas while I'm down there.

I've seen them on Laughingplace, but I'm not sure what their markup is.

thanks!

We bought a castle this week that came with Polly Pocket type/size princess dolls for $65, I saw it at Downtown Disney and I think in the Magic Kingdom too.

Just bought my DD the Cinderella Castle Playset yesterday at the Contemporary gift shop after lunch with Mickey. It was $65.00 - which IMHO is not too bad for what you get.... considering it is Disney

If no one answers the train question, I will try and check it out tomorrow - we will probably be going over to MK at the very least DTD. Time to renew our APs!

10 characters, coach & horse, and lots of accesories.

That's a great price! Perhaps I shouldn't be saying that...next week it will be $20 more. :) thanks a lot...

It looks so much cuter in your picture too...thanks for sharing. My dd will LOVE that!!!

10 more days!!! YIKES!!! :cheer2:

you for offering to check the price on the train...that is so so so so nice of you. Please don't go out of you way though. :)

Thanks again.

CAN'T WAIT!!!!

No problem.

I never really thought about DD wanting one... she had never mentioned it before, but she said something about it, so I told her after we were done in MK we would go back and get it. I left her trading pins on the monorail yesterday so she was rather upset with me..... so I figured it was a good way to try and make up for it!

She has had a good time playing with it already, and I am sure soon the Polly Pockets will be moving into the castle as well... Who know maybe even Pokemon! They have taken up residence in the Loving Family house.

My daughter would absoulutly love this. She loves any of the little play pieces. This is great though.

We also have the castle, but honestly, I wish I had not bought it. I personally think it is VERY poorly made, for that 65 dollars I spent on it.
It is adorable, but in my opinion, so not worth that 65 dolars

well whatever you decide to do, The Laughing Place marks it up big time! It's also at the...what is that called...the Mega Main Street Store...it's online. I found it when I googled the castle! I wanted to get it for Christmas for my step daughter and the monorail playset for my step son...hmmm...I'm sad to hear they are poorly made though...is it just put together badly or just all around sort of rinky-dinkish?

After seeing the huge mark up at the Laughing place I'm sorry I didn't buy it while we were there...decisions decisions! ;)

I don't see it to be made any different than the other similar toys we have in the house - Polly Pocket houses, Littlest Pet Shop houses, etc. It's just a bit pricier, but that is obviously just my opinion. I didn't think it was such a bad buy for the price..... again - considering it is Disney!

I personally think it is very flimsy, the stairs broke, or something, I can go to my basement to look if you would like me to. My kids are not rough kids, I honestly can not think of another toy they have broken. We also have another friend who also has the castle, and she also agrees for the money we paid for it, it was very cheaply made. The plastic is thin, I was unimpressed with it.
I can go in the basement and check it out if you would like.

My daughter has this and plays with it every single day and has for the last 3 months with no signs of tiring of it. Its a great toy and I'm looking to get some things to add to it when we go down in a couple of weeks.

DD wanted the castle last year, but didn't want to spend the bucks. SO, this year she went for it. She's VERY happy with it, and it's in great shape. I really thought that she got a great value for her money. A lot of play value, and a very pretty display piece for her room. She's outgrown the Loving Family doll house, so this is a great toy for her (and her little brother. It's amazing what good fighters those princes are!).

Call Disney Merchandising. They'll ship you anything at the retail price. I'm sorry, but I don't remember how much the monorail set cost.

The Disney train is 60.00 and the commemorative gold train is 75.00. My DS just loves them and they seem to be made pretty well. :)

I had checked these prices today as well. Also, the monorail is $60 and the Tree of Life is $28.... Guess what we added to DDs collection today? The TOL - she's all about animals. Our house looks like it was Christmas this week - I've been on a little SPENDING BINGE!!!!

You are so lucky to live to close! Jealous... :)

We have a 22 hour drive ahead of us in just 10 short days!!! Can't wait though.

We bought the castle for our 3 children as a combined souvie and they LOVE it. I didn't think $65 was all that bad either. Our kids are 6 yr, 4 yr, and 22 mths and they all play so nicely together with the castle. I don't feel that it is made any cheaper than most similar types of toys. If your kids are rough, it won't hold up, but so far, nothing has broken on ours and they play with it daily. I can't think of another toy that all 3 of mine will play with.

any idea where I can find a picture of what the train looks like?
I know my dd will love the castle play set, but I'm trying to think of something ds might like as his 'big' souvie :)
Thanks!

I've got one - give me a minute to upload it... not the best picture - but it will show you what you need!

Here's a pic of the regular train

Also the limited addition gold one... it's blurry - I didn't feel like sitting on the floor to take the picture! I'm almost embarrased to post it... but you get the idea!
