So all you Disney pin collectors, how much pins do you have in your collection?:thumbsup2

I must not be a very seriuos collector-I find myself each trip reevaluating the ones I have and the ones I'm willing to trade. I have about 20 or so that I am not taking this trip (too special at the moment) and between myself and my 2 children we are taking 40 or so to trade.

My daughter collects and did fairly well in September. She was able to complete 4 sets the week. She was real selective about who she traded with. And someone stopped her in DTD and gave her a special Tinkerbell pin that you can't buy. It was very cool of her to do it. I would say she has about 50 pins.

I have 131. Most of them actually came from Ebay. I'm not sure how much I'll bring to Disney World with me.

My brother and I have about 150 and still counting. We buy many of ours on ebay. In fact I got 100 dollars in ebay giftcards for my birthday and spent it all on pins. I am pin crazy!!

I bought a few pins for my nieces. We took one of my niece to WDW last October and started her collection. My other niece will be going to WDW for the first time in 2010 and we got her a few Little Mermaid pins.

Our 3 little ones all have them and really enjoy bringing them every year. They only have about 25 pins each.

have about 40 each. For Chirstmas my DH bought me a nice big shadow box and we had fun arranging them and hanging it on the wall. Only problem is they just fit.. so we'll either need to stop buying them, or buy enough to fill another entire box. :thumbsup2

Ours almost all came from ebay too at the start, but my kids are huge traders. They always seem to get a few pins for gifts at holidays.

We have close to 1000 pins displayed on a cork wall in our office/den with more in binders and cases. DD started trading on the last trip and DS will get to trade on our upcoming trip in April/May.

Just a couple days ago I spent $200 on 120 pins.

Wow that is a lot of pins. How long have you been collecting?

Since 2004. we don't buy pins just to buy pins, though. We only buy ones we like, ie - I like the Villains. We also buy the AP pins, DVC pins, and trade for lanyard pins in the sets we like.

Over our last three trips DS (10) and I have collected over three hundred pins. Prior to our second last trip I bought 40 pins for us to trade; this last trip we took almost 100 between us! We really enjoy the trading and DS loves to try to complete a set. I also purchase off of ebay or in the DisneyStore on markdown, which makes the cost very manageable. For us, if we purchase the pins at WDW we really don't want to trade them because we've fallen in love with them! At home, all of our pins are displayed on cork boards and they are a conversation piece with visitors. We buy very few souveniers as our pins fill that role.

I'm really new to this, what is a full set? Do you mean a Disney Store online or a real building store? How much does it normally cost for 1 pin if your get them on markdown at the Disney Store? Our Disney Store is closed!:scared1:

I've been collecting & trading since 2005 and I have about 400 pins. They're all still on lanyards too - I have 25 lanyards with pins on them hanging in my closet! I really need a new way to display them as I truly enjoy them! :teeth:

I have around 80.
DD6 has around 30.
DS4 has around 15 (he's more into the "trading" than the keeping so far!)
And I have another lot of 50 coming for our next trip to get us freshly stocked!
Right now mine are in the small Tink bag, which my collection has outgrown. So I told DD that next time we go, I'll get a bigger bag, and she can have my tink bag for her collection.
She is really big on completing sets too! It was so funny, our last trip, she was after the baby princesses...you know, the set you can buy as a set! But it was easy, since just about every CM has some on their lanyard.
OH, but pin trading drives my mom NUTS!!!! She wants to get in the parks and do what she wants to do...The kids want to stop every time they see a lanyard! But she doesn't realize how well it keeps them occupied!

LOL!!!:rotfl: I think it will be really fun to trade them. This is my first year collected so I haven't traded at Walt Disney World yet, but it won't be long I'm leaving a Feb. 13!

A full set of pins would be five pins (or more depending on the set) that are of a themed group that might include one each of the fab five or other characters. For example, I have a set of seven of Alice in Wonderland that are all chess pieces. DS collected a Muppets set and several POTC sets. It's a challenge to find an entire set and on occasion he has finally found the last one of the set on our last day which gives such a thrill! :wizard:

I have bought from the Disney Store online and had them shipped to the resort just ahead of our trip and I have bought them on clearance in an actual Disney Store. The marked down pins might be as cheap as $2, if you're really lucky just less than that - compared to $7-15 in the parks that is a good deal! Ebay is great for getting a variety of pins (anywhere from 1 to 10 to 100+) for a reasonable price, just make sure the seller has positive feedback. I live in Canada, so I am careful on shipping costs but if you live in the U.S., the shipping costs can be negligible. :goodvibes
