We are going to WDW in early March. Interested in doing some tours this time around. Are there any that are a must do? Any tips on getting the most for our money? No super small children with us so no one will be shocked to see a real person play a character.

I've done 2 special tours. Just did Keys to the Kingdom in Sept and it was really awesome but a long day. It's a 5 hour tour and does include lunch. If you do this, prepare to stand a lot with lots of walking. It was very interesting and even for a Disney veteran, there is something to learn.
I've also done the Behind the Seeds tour in the Land in Epcot. This is also a fun (and inexpensive) special tour. Takes about 2 hours if I remember correctly. You go behind the scenes of the area. Very science-y (is that a word?) but interesting.
You can also do a FREE culinary tour close to dinner time at Animal Kingdom lodge. In Jambo house you can tour Boma/Jinko and there is another one at Kindani villiage's Sanna.

Have fun!

Thank you so much! Wanted to make sure it was worth the time (missed the part where lunch is included). We will be staying at Jambo House and had no idea about the FREE tours, thank you!

We just got back and did the Marceliene (sp) to MK tour. It was amazing!! It was about 3 hours long and i think it cost about 40-ish?? I would have be happy if we'd paid twice that! Our tour guide was incredibly well informed. we started at 8:00 and got to wander around through Liberty Square and up to the Haunted Mansion long before anyone else was even in the park ... huhm unless you count the bride & groom getting pictures in front of the Mansion (seriously???) After telling us in great detail about all the new stuff in the stand-by line, we got to be the 1st riders in the HM with headsets so she could point out certain details. We exited the ride and she continued her spiel before spinning on her heel and asking "would anyone like to see the ballroom IN PERSON?" We actually got to go under the ride and stand beside the ballroom scene .. SO MUCH FUN!!!

You get a couple more rides before finishing up with a private ride through the CP since that is Walt's true baby. I can't recommend it highly enough. I think we enjoyed it more than the Keys tour :cool1:

You'll want to check the minimum age for the different tours. I think it's a minimum of 16 years old for several tours.

I loved the KTTK tour and the Backstage Safari tours. I only sort of liked Backstage Magic (thought it was too expensive at almost $200; too long at eight hours, and only sort of interesting).

That is amazing! I think seeing the ballroom scene in person is worth the money alone!
