Disney topics...what else?

Best Memory from a Disney trip was a few years ago, maybe when I was 7 or 8. We were at Hollywood Studios. We had brought my friend and him and I were too lazy to walk so we got in the stroller that my parents had rented. Suddenly, one of the street characters walked up to us. He was a cop and what do cops do. They give tickets, so he gave us a ticket for being lazy and not walking. I'm still laughing about it, to this day.

I can't pick between two.
The first is from this picture
373.jpg

We got evacuated off of Winnie the pooh. The ride got stuck multiple times but we spent the time singing It's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow, loudly. We couldn't stop laughing as the ride started and stopped an inch later each time. In this picture we are practically IN pooh's house. You can see how excited I was.

The other is from our trip where it rained the whole time. One day at the Magic Kingdom it had rained practically all day so most people left but we stuck it out, and because of this we got to watch the Magic the Memories and You, and Wishes standing right in front of the castle with practically no one around. It was beautiful.

Mine was meeting Buzz and Woody at Hollywood Studios on my last trip. It was so magical to meet my childhood favorites, and they did such a good job. Super engaging and it was just me meeting them and ahhh perfection. Even the Green Army Man came just for me. I was next in line and he pops in and we start talking and he's also in the picture and leaves. It was the most fantastic character encounter ever!!

What a great memory!! This is why I love Disney:)

Wow!! Great memories:) I would be laughing so hard if that happened to me on a ride!!!!! It probably has multiple times:) One time at Disney, we got a lot of rain as well...but if I remember correctly, we stayed too:) Disney is perfect, rain or sun!!!

First of all, lemme say Happy New Years!!!! First day of 2014 WOO-HOO!! But I wanted to ask all my fellow teens or pre-teens or adults...however old you are.....why do you love disney? Now this has been asked before I'm sure, but I thought it would be a fun topic!!

Also, once the thread starts going(hopefully it will) I want to ask some more questions:) I know there is a thread going right now about personal questions...but I thought this would be different since it pertains to Disney moreso:) of course you can talk about yourself in relation to disney..I don't care!!:) btw, whoever came up with the getting to know you thread, great idea!!

Have a great day everyone!! Pixie dust to all!!

I grew up with Disney. I quite honestly can't remember a time without Disney, and I can remember really far back. Just like I've grown up listening to rock'n'roll and never stopped and never will stop, I've grown up watching, listening, traveling and reading Disney and never stopped and never will stop. Disney has always been the safe, happy place for me, no matter what is going on in my life. Plus, it either taught me or reiterated a lot of life lessons:

*No matter how big or small, your dreams are worth it, and if you try, they can come true.

*True friends will never abandon you

*Your family and those you care about are always with you, in your heart (or, as Sirius Black puts it, "The ones who love us never truly leave us.")

*Everyone deserves to be accepted, no matter who they are or what they look like or what their social status is.

*Inner beauty is far more important than outer beauty

*There is always hope, even if you can't see it (and possibly faith, trust and a little bit of pixie dust! :))

*You should always do what's right, no matter the consequences or how other people will react

Anyway, there's probably a lot more but I feel like I've gotten too preachy/lecture-y. Disney has always been something I've loved, the characters feel real to me, at times I feel like some would be really good friends or family of mine. In the end, Disney is my home.

I relate to everyone! I grew up watching the old VHS movies and just loving them....Disney gave me imagination when I was a child:) of course, my whole family loves Disney but my mom and I are the Disney FREAKS!! My siblings' first movie ever to go see at the movie theater was The Rescuers...so that is a special movie for them!! I too have been to the parks almost every year...when we don't go, we go on a Disney cruise (I absolutely recommend those). Whenever I see a commercial on tv, I always smile and get excited:) that magic will never leave...Bravo Walt Disney bravo!!!!

So guys, great answers!! Another question: What part of Epcot is your favorite? (For example: Norway or France......) Also, any newcomers can feel free to answer any previous question I have asked as well:)

Pixie dust to all!!!

Probably the Canada pavillion. I'm Canadian as well, though I live in the States now, and everyone who knows me knows I'm very proud of my heritage and being Canadian, at school I'm pretty sure people think of me as "that one Canadian kid" and I bet they think of my older brother as the same. Anyway, I love the Canadian pavillion because of the music and the feel and it is really pretty.

Okay guys.....here's another question!! What part of Magic Kingdom is your favorite? And you can tell me why it's your fav or your fav rides in MK, if you like

This is much harder. I like my wishing well (It's not really my wishing well, but I call it that because it's Cinderella's Wishing Well and it has a letter C at the top and my name starts with a C and we've got pictures with me there and stuff.) and I feel like that if I lived in the Magic Kingdom that would be my special place where I'd go sit outside on a bench and read a book. I also like Adventureland, because it just feels like you're actually going on an adventure where you'll end up with pirates or exploring a jungle or something. The last place would probably be New Fantasyland, I just really like Belle's and Ariel's areas.

Ahhh those are the best!!! I love when the characters do special stuff with you:) the army man did a couple special poses with me once and I couldn't stop smiling...it was pretty neat:)

Here's another question...if I am moving too fast with these questions just lemme know:) What is your best memory from a Disney trip?

Oh, definitely meeting Merida my last trip, December 2012. I was (and still am) obsessed with Brave, it's one of my favorite Disney movies.

I was so obsessed that I dyed my hair red to look like Merida (it's naturally curly) and on that day I was wearing a shirt that my mom had custom made for me for my birthday (December first, the trip was like the 12th-17th or something like that) that was white and had Merida on it and it said in black writing "I Choose My Own Fate"

Now I'll step back for a moment and tell you at the time I was 16 years old.

There was one family in front of me when we were led into the pavilion thingy. My mom took my coat and my bag and my lanyard, and also had me take out my barrettes that were holding my bangs out of my face. The cast member took one look at me and told me to turn around, so I did. When the family that had been ahead of us was gone, the cast member told Merida there was a special guest and beckoned me forward. I walked over and was probably shyly grinning like a fool, and Merida greeted me and called me Princess and took me by the arm and we started walking out of the pavilion, chatting and stuff, off to change our fates. Well, we were met by the cast member at the door. She asked where we were going and Merida just gestured at my shirt. The lady sent us back so we trudge back and I remember saying "Next time," and she said, "Yes, next time." And when we got back up there to the cast members, she was like "Why didn't you cause a distraction?" and they were like "Well, if you'd waited instead of dashing off" and this cannon thing sounded, and Merida was like "Oh, yep, there it is" and we talked a little more and took some pictures, but we unfortunately had to go, else I could have probably spent all day with Merida.

I have some other nice ones too from when I was younger, but that's the best one.

Wow!! That's awesome:) my hair is naturally curly as well...but I'm a brunette:) What an awesome memory!! Man....I kinda want to dye my hair red and let it go natural next time I visit Disney, not gonna lie!!! Thanks so much for taking the time to tell me this, Fairywings!!! REALLY ENJOYED IT:)

I'm actually having a very hard time thinking of one, which is odd because I'm known for remembering everything, and I mean everything. So...I guess I'll start from the beginning. It was the first time we had eaten in Cinderella's castle, and I think I was four at the time. My mom had dressed me in a Cinderella costume. When Cinderella finally got to our table it was very special, for the exception that I was scared of face characters at the time. Anyway, though,
my mom gave me this light up necklace to
go with it, which I just thought was the greatest thing. Later that trip I dressed up as Belle for MNSSHP, which I loved.
We (my siblings and I) also were chosen one trip as the Main Street Confectionary chefs of the day, which was the coolest thing.
Okay, sorry for the length, but we had a lot of memories our last trip about 6 months ago. We participated in the all-nighter, and we were the first to ride this car down main street right after the park opened.

Great memories!! I just can't think of many unfortunately...I'm sure if I asked my mom she could tell me a bunch lol:)

Don't know how I missed this post!! Loved it...thanks for sharing, Wings:) I love the things Disney has to teach.....very good life lessons!!

Wow seems I've missed a few of the questions - I'm not around the boards much but I enjoy posting when I am

2. My favorite part of EPCOT would probably be a tie between England and Mexico. I'm a huge Beatles fan so I loved getting to sit in the courtyard in the England pavilion and listen to the "British Invasion" cover band play. That being said, the Mexico pavilion is just drop dead gorgeous and it really makes me feel like I have been transported to a Mexican village and I always have tons of fun walking through it.
3. My favorite part of the MK is a tougher question to answer - Haunted Mansion will always have a special place in my heart because it was the first ride I went on when I went to WDW for the first time. I haven't had the chance to see it yet but I feel like New Fantasyland (especially the new Beauty and the Beast additions) will be a new favorite of mine because I just love all those classics. And finally, Main Street and the Castle are probably my favorites just because when I see either of those areas I know that I am finally home and it just gives me chills like no other.
4. Again, I can't choose just one. My favorite table service restaurant has to be Crystal Palace - it's just gorgeous and I have tons of fun seeing all of the characters during my meal. In terms of quick service (again not counting Be Our Guest since I'm sure that's gonna be my new favorite), I have to go with either Pizza Planet or Cosmic Rays. Not that the food is beyond amazing or anything at either place but they both have meaning to me. I have memories of my sister and I sitting at Cosmic Rays during EMH, going through our bags of souvenirs from the day and freaking out that we were in Disney World after midnight (it was a big deal). And for Pizza Planet, I was obsessed as a child with the Toy Story movies so going to that restaurant is like jumping into the movie for me and a dream.
5. I have too many "best memories" to count because every moment I'm in WDW is magical and amazing. But if I have to choose one it would be the first day of my first trip. I didn't get to go to WDW until I was 14 so you can say it took a while for my family to FINALLY get there. When we walked into the MK that first day, the parade was going on. We ran up to the train station and watched the parade from up there. It was as if Disney knew that my family had made it to the parks so they were having a parade to celebrate our arrival. I love thinking back to that day with that in mind, just remembering the pure magic I felt around me experiencing everything for the first time.

I agree that Mexico is beautiful:) I haven't seen New Fantasyland either, but I know it will be amazing and I will LOVE it<3 Pizza Planet and Cosmic Rays are just so unique!!! I love the theming of pizza planet, but I love getting to see the castle from cosmic rays!! Wonderful restaurants:) Thanks for posting!!!And don't worry...I don't post all the time so you can post whenever you like...I guess you could say I'm more of the lurker-type lol!!
