Thought this little blurb in Forbes was interesting

http://www.forbes.com/2006/03/30/disney-theme-parks-0330markets20.html

While the article does say Staggs implied that it was unlikely they would spin off the parks, it sure as heck sounds like it is something they have studied/considered. I know it is the author's choice of words, but I would have thought he would have gotten the standard "vehemently denied" type of response.

Not the most heartwarming endorsement, if the reason for them not spinning off the parks is the unfavorable tax consequences. ????

This is nothing new, this had been discussed prior to the Eisner years.

Ask all the former employees of The Disney Store who believed the same thing.

If the money's right, it will happen.
If the money's right anything will happen..I guess you could argue that about any company or circumstance. However, I noted this from the article:
.....the company's chief financial officer recently implied that such steps are unlikely because of tax consequences following a restructuring, as well as the corporate philosophy that ownership and operation of the hotels remain an integral part of the theme parks' success.
