Disney to International Drive

Obviously Disney wouldn't provide transportation off property, wanting you to stay there and do activities around Disney the whole time, but does anyone know the best way to get to International Drive from the Epcot area? We aren't renting a car and were thinking of doing something off property one night. And if taxi's would be the best bet, about how much do you think they would be?
Thanks!

To my knowledge, you can either take a taxi or a combination of Disney and public transport. It'll be a choice between travel time and price.

The Disney+public transport option should take between 60 and 90 minutes each way, whereas the taxi shouldn't take more than 30 minutes each way.

As for prices, the taxi should run you between US$ 30,00 and US$ 45,00 each way (not including tip), depending on where on International Drive you want to go. The Disney+public transport should cost US$ 4,00 per person.

If you choose to take the bus, here's what you should do:
Use Disney transport to get to either Transportation and Ticket Center or Downtown Disney West Side Transfer Center. From there, take lynx bus nº 50 (downtown Orlando direction) and disembark in front of Sea World. Then, transfer to lynx bus nº 8 (downtown Orlando direction) and disembark on your chosen bustop (it drives along International Drive from Sea Harbor Dr. all the way up to Orlando Premium Outlets International Drive). To go back just reverse the order: lynx nº 8, lynx nº 50 and Disney transport. For bus routes and schedules, visit the lynx page.

Hope this helps :)

Thank you, very helpful! I was looking into the Sleuth's mystery dinner theater. I'm almost wondering if it would be easier to rent a car for the day, as we are wanting to go to Universal Studios that same day, too.

You know, I thought about suggesting a rental car this morning on my way to work. If you want to go off Disney property during the day as well, you should definitely look into it. I know there's an Alamo at the Walt Disney Car Care Center and another one at the Dolphin hotel (when I was there, this one didn't accept cash guarantees, only credit card, and the card has to be on the name of the main driver). I think there are other car rental companies at the Disney Car Center, but I'm not sure. I know you can set it up with the companies so that they'll come and take you to their location, and afterwards they'll drop you off at your hotel.
Just for you to have an idea, if the main driver is over 25 years of age, you can book an economy car for one day at the Alamo at the Disney Car Center for about US$ 95,00 (this includes two types of insurance and a GPS). If you add US$ 15,00 for parking at Universal and about US$ 10,00 for gas (I'm guessing here), It should run you around US$ 120,00, which is not a lot more than what you would spend for 2 taxi runs, with the benefit of having the car all day and being able to go to multiple locations on International Dr.

On another topic, I was at the Sleuth's mystery dinner show some 12 years ago. I had a lot of fun and enjoyed the food. Hopefully it hasn't changed and you'll enjoy yourselves there :yay:

Once again, hope this helps :)

This helps a whole lot! I didn't know about the rental car center on property. I looked it up and it would be a much better deal than taking a taxi, and more convenient so we could just get up and go if we wanted.
About the Sleuth's Dinner: I know some of us were wanting to go the Disney board walk and maybe go to Cirque de Soleil. While I love Cirque, I've been to many of their shows before, but never to a mystery dinner! I've heard good things so far. I don't know how that's going to turn out, with people wanting to go to different things.
Only a little over 2 weeks to go, so much to plan!
