The irony between this statement in your comment:

and this statement in your signature:

is definitely not lost on me! :rotfl2:
I call ‘em like I see ‘em. This a prediction, not an experience.

FWIW, I’ve always found your signature amusing, too. But that’s because I’m a fan of PA high school football. GO JAGS!

I have seen much faster moving threads in my days on the Dis, but they usually crashed and burned as fast as they moved. This one at least is remaining civil......for the moment.:joker:

LOL - I just got a chuckle out of it!

And uhhh...which Jags...not TJ??

Well it's a good thing we're staying on topic - a week ago man, this thread really spun off the rails. I can neither confirm or deny my involvement in said derailment. I'm being good today though (now that we actually have something real apparently to discuss)

So..hypothetical...
You have a split stay..
You book a separate full length reservation for the same days. Make fastpasses under that reservation. Under the 2 day grace period apply those fastpasses to the split stay?

Another loophole?? We won’t let Disney ruin our vacation!!

Disney doesn’t do anything that costs them money unless it makes them money. Mark my words...This was done in anticipation of expanding the paid-for FP plan that is currently offered to CL guests. They didn’t do this because it was unfair or because people were booking but not using campsites, or making then canceling leading reservations. There’s money to be made by selling a FP advance booking advantage. But if people can bypass it for free by exploiting those loopholes, they won’t pay for it.
This. In the end this is what it is really all about. More $$$$.

Does anyone have concrete information about the 2-day grace period? I have Value reservations but was hoping to find a Moderate or Deluxe on Priceline, spending more for a more exciting resort. I would rather stick with the Value if I would lose my FPs. My dates are set in stone at this point, so I would be replacing all dates if I change resorts. I'm probably dreaming to think I can find a PL deal, but I will stop checking PL if FPs are in jeopardy.

I do not believe you’ll be able to apply a single 10 day ( for example) reservation fp’s to 2 split stays. Who knows, but doesn’t seem plausible to me. Why not just stay within their guidelines so they don’t make changes like this again? Surely as people find a work around, Disney will fix it and we get screwed again.

Because its really not fair that people having legitimate split stays lose out on FPs. Under this rule someone staying 6 days in two 3 day reservations has less of a chance to get FOP or SDD than someone staying 4 days total.

To me it sounds like they want you to lose any of those FP's that were beyond the 60+5.

Whether they can actually program their software to make that happen we don't know for sure at this point.

Remember that the system basically makes you cancel and rebook if you do that so you're also gambling that you'll be able to reduce your stay to 5 days. I've had situations in the past where I tried to reduce a stay and couldn't do it and had to book else where.

My bet would be that the system will look to see if you have a valid reservation for the days that you have FP for. If you have one - even if a different one, fine. If not - the FP go. The alternative seems really difficult to program and can lead to a lot of problems for people who aren't abusing the system but make legitimate changes. Still leaves some loopholes open but far fewer and involves more gambling.
