Hiya ladies and gents! It is "I" the infamous Anonymouse. I need to get straight to the point with today's gossip because it is something many locals, or frequent visitors, had hoped would happen for quite sometime now. Could it be? Could Disney World soon enforce a "no chanting" rule? OMG I hope so! Even...

What and who are doing the chanting?

Large tour groups (20-50) of teenagers, mostly from South American countries, who visit for their Quinceneras or as a school trip. The primary months they visit seem to be January and July.

Sometimes it is just youthful enthusiasm, but especially in enclosed areas, it can be deafening and negatively affect other guests' experience.

They're not going to enforce anything, nor should they. It's not a big issue if you are walking by a group. Everyones constantly moving, so it's not like most people have to be around it for very long.

However, the only time it's truly annoying is if they are right behind you in line. THAT'S when a cast members needs to come over and get them to oh so kindly tell them to stop.

My annual pass just expired and when Disney sent me yet another piece of spam telling me how to renew I replied that I would not be renewing because the chanting offends me. It is simple to enforce. A large group is very obvious at the entrances. Security explains to the leader that any group chanting will be removed from the park for that day and denied reentry to any other park for that day. When a group starts chanting all you need is a dozen security to surround the group and herd them to the exit. Disney has the manpower to do this. If in a year or two the problem is solved I might consider another AP. But until then there are lots of other things I can spend my money on.

It's about time. I'm all for having a good time and people being happy but these kids are obnoxious. They deafened me a couple times in the line at Splash Mountain. I truly hope this isn't a rumor and they do something about it. Maybe they should go to Disnelyand Paris or something.

Guess that we have been LUCKY but have not personally experienced these chants, have not been to WDW in July or Jan. Have however, read many disturbing posts on OBNOXIOUS>:( chants interfering with guests ability to enjoy the park.:scared1: Good news, hopefully WDW cast members will follow through and the groups will be warned when they enter the park.

The only time it's annoying to you. This kind of nonsense is disruptive and should be curtailed. No group should be entitled to engage in behavior that so impacts others. We all pay admission to the parks. And while I am all for youthful enthusiasm, I do not want to pay for the pleasure of chanting groups.

I hope so. I also think they should make any group break up into smaller groups than whatever the current number is. The groups are way too big IMO.

Ban the tour group kick them out of the park.. All I know is a long time coming. They must have had enough with the complaints from guests.

But then you wold have to ban ALL tour groups. How about a youth church group of fifty strong? You can't ban one type of tour group and leave the others alone.

I agree that enforcing a ban of chanting would be difficult in the open areas but a ban in ride queues could be done. There are loudspeakers in those areas and a cast member could just announce over the loud speaker for the group to stop chanting.

Of course, selfie sticks are banned inside the parks and people get those in and attempt to use them.

They should have done this AGES ago! As someone mentioned, im sure Disney is sick of all the complaints from people about the tour groups chanting. When they start to disrupt other guests enough to complain, thats when Disney needs to start looking at another game plan. Glad they came to their senses.
