Hi I was in the disney store this past weekend and asked how much a 4 day hopper pass was. I was told 203.50 that inclued the 12% Fl. tax. Do we get charged our local tax also? They said that we don't. I'm confused we have a 6.5% tax rate here in our town. Help me if you can.

It's kind of like going to Ticketmaster and buying a concert ticket, but there are no service charges like Ticketmaster has.

The taxes are included, and you're not buying Ohio goods or services, so you don't pay Ohio tax.

I just bought 4 5-day park hoppers here in SC, and I didn't pay SC taxes on them either.

However, I'm sure that someone else on the boards will have a better explaination. I just know that you can't be taxed on tax, or something like that.........

You are charged 6.5% tax on all Walt Disney World passes, regardless of where you buy them. That is the Orlando tax rate. You don't pay your local tax on top of that.

I don't know why you were told you paid 12%!

They told me that the price was 203.50 which did include the Fl 12% tax. I 'm going to purchase tickets this weekend from the store,but I will ask them about the 12%tax before I buy them

How much were the 5 day hoppers at TDS, and were you able to use a DC discount?

I didn't buy them at TDS, but knowing that I couldn't use the DC to get a discount made it easier.
I didn't pay any additional tax on what I did buy though, so at least I didn't have to worry about getting double-taxed.
