Hi All,

I don't need park tickets until Nov 2011 but I'm wondering about buying them now before the annual ticket price increase (usually August isn't it?) and while the dollar is high. I'm holding back because of a few unanswered questions I've got....

1) How does it work for Canadian residents buying through some place like the Dis's official ticket centre? do they get mailed to us or will I have to have them at "will call" for a year and a half? Is that even doable?

2) they will of course have to go on my Mastercard which has a pretty low interest rate but would that along with a transaction fee of some kind blow any savings I might get from the pre-increase price and difference in dollar?

Someone with better math skills then me please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:rotfl:

That's what I did....

We didn't have a Disney trip planned for a couple of years, but the dollar was at price a while back and I knew Disney was about to raise the price. So I bought 10 day hopper plusses that don't expire from Under Cover Tourist and got an extra 5% discount using a Mousesavers code.

We've used:

March 2009: 3 park hoppers
July 2009: 1 park hopper [did all four parks, plus we had loads
of old waterpark tickets and went to TL and BB]

We have 6 days left and will use them for the next 2 - 3 trips.

Great deal! S :hippie:

With the CDN dollar slowly creeping back toward par with the US dollar any day now might be a good day to pull the trigger.

One other factor I try to take into consideration on big purchases is to try and make it on the day of a new billing cycle on my credit card. Mine is the 22nd of the month. So any purchases made on this date gives me about 5 weeks before the balance is due on my credit card ..... a nice little bonus. Just have to make sure I always pay the full balance on due date.

Because we have 3 trips to Disney World planned over the next year, and we are DVC members and get a discount on AP's I will buy some annual passes this time. Since my CC billing just passed I will buy them any day now before the possible price increase and when the CDN seems the best for me.

If I can get the exchange rate with 10 cents including foreign currency exchange fees on my CC I will be very happy. It's a bit of a game, and really the 1 or 2 percent different don't amount to too much ... but saving a dollar here or there is kind of fun.
