Disney, then offsite, then back to Disney

My husband has work training in Orlando the first week of June, so my mom, myself and our two girls are probably going to tag along for some Disney time. We are going to add the weekends to the trip so that my husband can go to the parks a couple of days with us, so I am trying to figure out the logistics. Can we stay at a Disney hotel for Saturday and Sunday, then go to an Orlando hotel for Mon-Thurs and then back to Disney for Friday and Saturday? If so, would a MagicBand with 8 day park passes work during the entire trip, including the time we are staying at the Orlando hotel?
