I know that this has been brought up time and time again, I appologize. My Fiance and I are having an intimate wedding at Disney in November, and when we get back home we are having a reception for those would couldnt make it to Orlando. For those of you who have had at-home receptions, what are the small touches that you used to incorporate the Disney Theme?
Pictures would be gladly appreciated as well!

In advance, thank you so much....

We are having an Intimate in November and are also having a reception when we get back to the UK. We wanted to incorporate where we got married but not go over the top. Here are a few things we have done:

o Our wedding cake is four tires on a stand about 2 feet from the floor with a waterfall underneath. On the top of our cake we have a sugar-crafted model of Cinderella’s castle made - it’s stunning and i can’t wait to see it.

o Also on the table with the cake are the Wedding Minnie and Mickey plush with Mickey confetti scattered around.

o Instead of table numbers we have Disney Character couples such as Cinderella and Prince Charming, Beauty and The Beast etc

o We have also hired a projection television to watch the wedding for people who were unable to make it.

I am sure you will get a few more replies but this will start you off.

Happy planning :thumbsup2

I made wallet-sized copies of pictures of my DH and I growing up and then other pictures of us together and used a gigantic mickey head punch (available online at archivers.com) that was nearly 2" across and scattered them around each of our guest tables. That was the most commented thing at our reception- people loved looking at all of our childhood pictures!

:wizard: pixiedust: :wizard: pixiedust: Best wishes and pixiedust!

thank you so much for those unique ideas.... please keep them coming. I was wondering if anyone had pictures of their disney themed reception... and I am eager to hear of others replies.

Feel free to check out my wedding pictures- I had a disney themed wedding, a DFTW was WAY out of my budget...the link is in the bottom of my siggy, under my ticker!

My cousin was married in NY and wanted to add the Disney touch, she had a Mickey and Minnie ice sculpture next to her Wedding cake and it was so nice.

Future- I am going to go look at your pictures right now

JoD- Does your friend have pictures of that Ice Sculpture?

Thanks so much for your input!!

FutureMrsC- Your dress was so beautiful! You looked great! Congratulations. On the Grooms Cake where did you get the score and figurine for the cake? Was the score part of the cake or was it just a paper score? Also, where did you get that isle runner that said "once upon a time" and "and they lived happily ever after".... by the way- the wedding looked beautiful!

Thank you for your sweet comments! :cloud9:

The grooms cake was supposed to have the edible paper on top w/ a scanned version of the score, but the baker's edible-ink printer died that week and so she just laid laminated paper on the cake and then put the score (the copy we gave her) on top.

As for the aisle runner, I made it myself :goodvibes 32 feet of white canvas, tons of stencils that I made myself, and then red acrylic paint w/ a fabric additive... all in all, 1 solid weekend (friday-sunday) working on it.

Wow! I am pretty darn impressed by that isle runner! You did such a great job!!!!

I agree that runner is amazing, doesnt look handmade what-so-ever- great job!

Kmab00- very nice wedding website (the proposal looked so sweet!)

I'm more than happy to share directions with anyone that needs it! I'm so proud of how it came out, and it wasn't that difficult to do, just time consuming!

Hello,

I unfortunately couldn't have the Disney wedding so we subtly used Disney theming in our wedding at home.

We got married a week ago so I don't have my pics back yet buy once we do I will post any pictures that I have.

We incorporated Disney as follows:

- We wrote our own vows so my sisters made us a plaque with our vows on it. The background for the plaque is a sheet for Disney scrapbooking so it has the castle, and on it is says "Once upon a wedding" in Disney font.

This was displayed on our gift and guest book table

- As wedding favors each guest received a plastic cinderella slipper filled with candy, as well as a shooter glass filled with candy. Each shooter glass had a tag around it with Cinderella and Prince Charming faded into the background of the tag.

- The MOH's speech was a fairytale story all about my husband and I's relationship. It was so special and unique.

First off let me say that I have no pictures to show...but my wedding is Cinderella themed. Hmmm....let's see....as favors I have the glass slipper filled with hershey's hugs and kisses, my unity candle is with Cinderella and the Prince, my card holder is cinderella's pumpkin coach (which someone made by hand for me), I'm giving each lady guest a wand (personally made), my invitations were Cinderella, the table numbers and place cards have Cinderella and the prince dancing, Pumpkin coach candles... and I'm sure there's more but I can't think of anything off the top of my head. I had more than just special touches....

We're doing a all out Cinderella theme.

My mom found this great website, Http://www.ShinDigz.com

They have a lot of fairytale things you could use for centerpieces ect.
