Anyone ever been this week? Will it be extremely crowded, and how will the weather be? Thanks for your input.

:welcome: Hi and welcome to the DIS!

If by "the week after Christmas" you mean the December 26-January 1 period, you are talking about BY FAR the busiest week of the year at WDW.

If you mean the week of January 1, then crowds will start to thin out by the middle of that week.

As for the weather, winter weather in Orlando is completely unpredictable. You could have warm days (80s) with cool mornings, or you could have mornings near freezing with afternoons in the 40s or 50s. Or you could have a little of both, or something in between. You'll just need to pack a little of everything...including swimsuits, sweatshirts and gloves!

We were there December 17-29 last year. The weather is variable...the week before Christmas it was down right chilly, almost to the point of being uncomfortable...the crowds were manageable....as the holiday approached it got a lot busier and unseasonably hot...

We've been for Christmas week and are going again this year. The weather is freaky. We've had times we were bundled up tight and freezing and then times where it was actually hot. Never can tell. Crowds are bad during that time, but the ambiance is wonderful. :goodvibes

I agree with the previous posters. The time between December 26 - January 1 will be incredibly crowded, but the decorations and holiday celebrations will still be going on. I actually enjoy traveling this time of year, and with the proper planning, it can be a fun time to travel!

We were there Dec. 31 - Jan. 4 this year -- it was incredibly crowded the entire time. (We had been told things would lighten up after New Year's. Didn't happen.) The decorations (especially the Castle) were gorgeous, and we still saw just about everything on our must-do list, but I was amazed by the sheer number of people. (We've been during Spring Break, so it's not like we're used to empty parks or anything.) The weather: Be ready for anything. It was 80 our first day. Two days later, the high was in the 40s, and the news was doing reports on iguanas falling out of trees due to the cold. (Fortunately, we came from Michigan and had all our winter gear with us.)

Ditto. We were also there last year, Dec 17-30.
Weather wise expect a little of everything.

Crowd wise, it ill be packed. However we were at park opening every day (which is really really early once they extend the hours) and we managed to get some good touring time in before 11. Twice we had to leave a park because it was so crowded you could barely hang on to your kids hands.

We go often, so we just skipped things as needed. Fast Pass is your best friend, at one point we walked by a 2 hour line (and people were still getting into it) for TOT.
