I'd like to complain that your post is too long.

We were at AK yesterday and I actually loved having this as an option. I think if Disney decides to do this and also keeps the rides at the attractions, it will make it a lot easier for people to adjust touring plans easily.

We grabbed fast passes for EE on our way in - then we carried on to our Animal Excursion tour without having to head over to Asia. After the tour we went to EE and rode it standby, on our way out went to see ITTBAB and grabbed fast passes to dinosaur. It worked great!

By contrast today in MK I had a couple of sets of fast passes as I headed out of the park for a break, and would've loved to grab another set for splash except I was all the way on the other end of the park and just didn't feel like walking back.

Not that it mattered much in the end thanks to the lightening-filled deluge that wrecked the rest of our day at MK! :)

I actually hope they implement this everywhere IF they still keep the machines at the rides as well.

We were at AK yesterday and I didn't see any centralized FP machines. The machines at It's Tough To Be a Bug were all covered at ~3pm. Also, they did not offer FPs for EE during EMH which was very disappointing. MK had FPs at EMH on sunday.

And the Yeti is definitely not moving.

The machines were open all day UNTIL 3. Then they covered them up.

And I will also confirm that the Yeti is definitely NOT moving.

I'd like to see all the fast pass machines at all the attractions become "universal" fast pass machines with touch screens. The current fast pass rules would still apply; you could only get one at a time, but you could print up a fast pass for any ride from any other ride.

Then we wouldn't have a bunch of people running back and forth across the parks just for fast passes.

I don't think this is a good idea and I see them going back to the way it was before, however at least it's a test and nothing is set in stone.

I loved the centralized fast passes! We were able to get FP for the Safari on the way to EE. We made it to EE sooner, and it saved my feet a little bit of walking-which is always a plus for me!

I hope they keep the ones at the attractions too because the lines for fastpasses when the park first opens would be horrendous.

My feet vote for this idea.

I am not a disney pro by any means but I am thinking this sounds like a great idea specifically for the reason that if one ride FP's are not available, you are right there at another machine to get an alternate. Of course keeping the machines at the attractions as well is key.

What about return times??? I checked out the link at the beginning of this thread and saw pictures of the central distribution machines. However, there are no return times posted? Am I missing something? Wouldn't we want to know when the return time is BEFORE we get the fastpass? This would make my decision of whether I want a fastpass for a particular ride.

1- A "Return Time Clock" would undoubtedly be a part of any permanent new central FP distribution.

2- This is just a temporary set-up.

3- You'll find further discussion on these and other points in posts found in this and other "DAK FP" threads.

This is why I think a centralized location is a good idea - but I also agree to keep the FP machines at the attractions as well. I would hate to have to choose between EE and Kilimanjaro Safari and end up walking all the way back to EE only to find out they are out of FP, then walk all the way to the Safari to get a FP for that ride and then back over to EE to ride standby.

Instead, I could go to the central location and see that EE was out, get my FPs for the Safari and start walking over to EE to ride standby. Time has been saved, and so have my feet.

Went to Animal Kingdom yesterday 7/29, luckily I had heard about fastpass set up at Tough to be a Bug where you can get fastpasses for Safari, EE and Dinosaur. I thought it made touring AK a heck of a lot easier, the walking was cut down quite a bit at least for us.

There were only small signs on top of the fastpass machines indicating that the fastpasses were for the above attractions, I heard several guests ask why all the people were lined up for at those fastpass machines and another guest would say to them "It's just the fastpasses for Tough to be a Bug".
