Hey guys!

I am ready for my very first tattoo!!! And of course it has to be Disney related.

I am thinking either Pirates of the Carribean related somewhere on my back or a whimsical Tink with pixie dust and such.....I was tossing around a tiki-bird one as well......i dont know...its such a permanent thing!

anyone have any Disney tattoo stories to share?

Any thoughts?!.....

How are you going to look as an 80 yr old woman with a POC tattoo? "Yeh, kiddies, that's gramma's old beau. His name was Jack Sparrow. I wonder what ever happened to him?"

I think that if we always thought about being 80 yrs old before we did anything we would never do anyhting. Just my opinion. I have been thinking about a Disney tattoo, but so far have not done it. My husband has ridiculed me out of any cartoons. The last tattoo was a butterfly on my back (maybe a little too big because it took WAY to long!!) If your going to do Disney, think about your favorite character and keep it smaller and somewhere you can cover up to be professional. When you are doing your first you may find afterwards that you don't really like being permantly decorated and will want to occasionally keep it covered. That is the advice I give to anyone about their first tattoo. But then again you might be addicted, like me, and keep going back for more torture because IT DOES HURT!!! I now have 5 and it doesn't get any easier. Good luck with your decision.

IMO (and this is from experience) draw out your tattoo or find a picture or whatever and I mean the *exact* thing you want drawn on you - sometimes the artist's rendition makes all the difference in the world. Then print it out and put it on your mirror where you look every morning. Do this for a year or at least several months. If you still want it then, then get it.

My first tattoo...well.. let's just say I wish I had done it differently :sad2:

I currently have a drawing of my "next" tattoo. It's been 2 months and I already don't like it & want to redraw it.

I agree with what Linzbear said. Think of your tattoo and wait. If you still want it after some specified time, then go for it. I think a Disney tattoo is pretty cool. Obviously, though, as I'm sure you already know, make sure you are getting the tattoo for you and not a fashion statement or something trendy right now.

I got mine (quite small and in a discreet place) quite some time ago and am still glad I did it. I did it for myself and it has meaning to me. The only people who question it now are my DD4 and DS2 (Daddy, what is that? Can I color on me too? :rolleyes1 ).

Anyway, best of luck with your choice (personally, out of your choices I like Tink). As for myself, I think a one of the main mouse would be pretty cool. Uh oh, I might have to put up that pic on the mirror....

I say if you want the tatoo go for it. I am working up the nerve to get one of woodstock (the bird). Afraid of the pain
:scratchin I'm not sure where i want it yet. but i will get it. And I think it will look great when I'm 80, 90 or older.

I think the hardest is deciding what to get. I have always loved snoopy and woodstock so it's a no brainer for me, but you do want to make sure you will always love your tatoo

good luck

I've never wanted a tatoo for myself but I do think some of them are really neat. My DH has two of them one on each calf on the side. Mickey is on one side and Minnie is on the other. He found a drawing of Mickey and Minnie that he liked and were the same height, took it to the tatoo guy, and his tatoos look just like the drawing.

I got a tattoo about 4 years ago. I would like to have a small tink tattoo. As far as the pain goes. I'm the BIGGEST WIENIE and it really didn't hurt me. The outlining was abit uncomfortable but the rest was aggrevating kind of like a really intense tickle. I was glad for it to be over with don't get me wrong, it wasn't enjoyable by any means.

I say go for it. And I hope I live to see 80, I'll tell the great grand kids. See what your Nana did I used to hang w/ the best of them.

As far a being 80 w/ a tattoo.....most likely at 80...any place I would get a tattoo would be put away for good at that point!!! lol!!!!

Really though,

I have been totally against the idea of tattoos in the past, but the more I toss around the idea....the more I want to hop in my car and get myself inked!

Especially something as "forever" as Disney. Its something I know I would never regret, I only wish they made pixie dust infused ink!!!!!

So now that I am sure I want one the real problem will be picking the one I want to forever be known as my "first" tattoo!

I really like the Tink one....I figure right on top of my shoulder this way it can be hidden by a short sleeve tee...or if I want to expose it, a tank will do the job......

I am sure it will not be my only tattoo as I have heard they are very addicting!

You'll look like an 80 y/o woman who knew(and hopefully will still know) how to have fun. I have several, all of which can be seen if I'm wearing, say, shorts and a tank top. I got my first at 18 and my most recent at 22. I've wanting something Disney, but can't decide what.

I got mine at 45 and I love it. Here is my hidden Mickey....

I would love to get a tattoo, too. I'm a big chicken when it comes to thinking about the pain, though.

Jenn - one thing to keep in mind if getting a tattoo on your back: I was in a workshop and they were talking about women who get the tattoo on the lower part of the back. If you're planning on having kids, they said hospitals won't give an epidural if there is a tattoo there. Something about the possibility of ink entering the bloodstream. I don't know all the details, but that kinda stayed with me.

I heard that too....Also heard its one of the most painful places to get inked as well!

I say go for it!!!! I just got my first tattoo on my right shoulder on Tuesday. I'm soooooooo happy I got it. It didn't hurt that much and is a great conversation piece. I thought about what I wanted for about 3 years and when I decided on what I was getting it took me about three weeks to find the right shop. (research the shops to get info if the are good and clean) I'm getting # 2 in about a year and I'm going to work a hidden mickey in to it. I'm 36 and proud to have my first tattoo.
GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!
