Disney TA conference

I think it will be so neat doing the power walk in the park without anyone else in there.

That occurred to me too! Great photo opportunites. But have arthritis in my knees so a "power walk" scares me green!! I'm more of the, "casual stroll with frequent stops to sit and rest" kinda gal.

I was also wondering if anything would be sent to us before the conference so thanks for answering that question.

I did the EarMarkered On-Site Agent Education Program last December at WDW and they also requested business casual attire. Capris and light tops were the norm with temps in the high 70's/low 80's. I think I'm safe to pack pretty much the same way as I did then.... I hope!! I went to Macy's at lunch and bought some new capris on clearance. Now I want some new shoes, new tops, new.... :rotfl:

Have you noticed in the past if alot of people from the same agency attend together? Or are there alot of singles, like me? Not that it matters.. just curious.

Last year, there were both people from large agencys and individuals. Heck, one agency must of brought like 30 people!! We had 4 from ours. Lots of people from all over the place!

Gee whiz!! Did they close the agency down so the whole place could go to the conference?? Holy cow.

Anyone else from the boards going? So far it sounds like we will have a fun group there.

I am going too, first time to Disneyland so I am excited. Since I am on the east coast I usually go to the world a few times a year, but now I am taking a west coast trip, so cool.

I will be there on the 13th to the 18th and there are 5 agents going from our agency so it should be tons of fun. Only doing the Suite Tour on the 15th, since it's my first time I really want to play in the parks and not do too much touring. That will be for the next time. :cool1:

For those going early they just shortened the hours a little bit on Sunday, Sep 14th for both parks!!!!!!!!!

I'll be there as well. First time for me.
Now trying to figure out what to wear. I see some of you said Capri's are ok?
That makes me feel better. I hate wearing long pantsif there's any chance of it being warm.

What about shoes? Do some of the ladies wear sandals? Or is it all business shoes? Hmmm my low Uggs are really comfy if we tour the parks.

Such confusion.

:lmao:

I plan on wearing capris and for shoes, Aerosoles "4 Give" Sandal. I will also bring my keds as my feet sometimes cannot live in sandals and I have to go to a sneaker type shoe.

Awesome. I have my Ugg layback sandals that I call my "dressy flip flops"
That will work.

My flight gets in at 3pm. Hopefully that will give me enough time to get to the hotel and pick up my ticket for a dinner ressie at 5:40

Just remember to bring a sweater for evenings. Southern California can get pretty chilly once the sun goes down which catches alot of people unprepared. I learned that lesson that hard way a few years ago! Extended forecasts are showing mid-80's during the day and low 60's/high 50's at night. Big temperature swing.

Good idea about the sweater.
Did everyone get their 2 emails today, one being the transfer voucher and the other being your confirmation with everything you have signed up for and some helpful hints regarding weather, dress, hopper tix, registration, etc?
Can't wait.

Got them! :thumbsup2 It makes it all seem so real....if that makes any sense!! I was going to wear my denim capris to the tour on Monday but looks like I will have to find another pair of the un-denim variety! :lmao: I will definitely be in the 'drop and run' group.....I will be in the hotel by noon time....not waiting for 3 pm....time is too precious!

Got mine!

I was a bit confused by the casual... but no shorts or jeans. :confused3

I'm off on my ABD trip tomorrow. I'll see you guys at DLR! :wave2:

Always Quiet:
Are you talking about one of the afternoon tours on Monday before the conference starts? If so, I don't see why you can't were demin to that. That is a pre conference tour. I'm doing the suite tour on Saturday at 1pm, and I was planning on wearing shorts since I will be in the parks before and after. Am I reading it wrong about dress code? I thought it only applied during the conference. Someone please advise.
Thanks

I would assume the same. If it's not the actual conference then you should be ok.

I was wondering what the attire will be for the evening receptions.

Yes, I am talking about the Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour and the Suites tour on Monday. I know last year when I went to the Keys tour in MK (pre-event), I wore a pair of demin shorts (trust me, not the short shorts! :scared1: ). I have a real comfy pair of capris I think I might use....I can always wear the demin capris on Sunday into the park. I guess it will all depend on the temps.

Just think, next week this time....we will all be packing!! :thumbsup2

On a different note...does anyone else have kids who are mad that they are leaving???!! Nothing like a little guilt to dampen things. :sad1:

So am I assuming right then that we can wear shorts on the pre tours?????

I am almost all packed already. Trying not to ck any bags!!!!!! Hope that works out ok.

See you all there.
Linda

Cannot wait!!! This is my first trip to Disneyland! I have been to DW more times than I can count...at least once a year since 1971! I am so excited. I attended the Disney Earmarked convention the past 2 years and they were awesome...especially last year getting the 3 night cruise... that was awesome. I will be arriving on 12th and leaving on the red eye the 17th.
Hope to see you there!
:tinker: :goofy:

OK, I think I have counted 7 of us. We have to do a DIS (TGM) meet. What about at one of the breaks. Let's try to get together on 09/16 at the 2:50 break. wsapooh (Laurie) checking in ??? 10:15 Walk in Walts Footsteps and 2:45 Discover the Magic.

Help me complete the list by Wednesday please.

My daughter is not mad that I'm going without her. She is thrilled that the both of us are going because it will be the first time that she is alone in the house. I'm a bit shaky about it but at 19 I suppose it has to happen sooner or later, I just wish it was later.

Hey, maybe we will get an Adventures by Disney trip this time. This is an anniversary trip for the EarMarked Conference plus they are really going to be pushing those at the conference. One can dream can't one? LOL

also Ryan ck in Sept 13

Anyone doing any of the power walks???? Ryan and I are doing the one on Sept 15th. Also the Dream Suite tour at 1pm on Sept 13th.
