I have a membership no etc issued when I put down my $500 for SSR.

That is now on hold as we are going for a BCV re-sale.

Couple of questions,

As I will not cancel the SSR deal until my BCV deal has gone though - will I get 2 member numbers ie what happens when they set you up after a resale.

Could I make a ressie now with the SSR points and then use the BCV points for it when/if I complete ?

My understanding is that IF you buy a resale that is the same use year as your present contract, then they will use the same contract number (eg. 4021234.001, .002, .003). Member number is different than a contract number. I have one member number and three contracts.

I don't think you can make a reservation until your deal has gone through. If your SSR deal has not gone through, then I don't see how you could make a reservation.

If you cancel the SSR contract, all reservations that you might have made will also be cancelled. As far as I know, the ID number issued will also be invalidated.

You cannot make a reservation now (under the SSR contract) and have it moved to the resale.

After closing on your resale, it will take up to a week to be added to the DVC computers. As soon as you are in, you can begin making ressies with the resale.

IF I understand your question....

You've put down a deposit with Disney for an SSR membership, but you are still within your no penalty cancelation window to cancel the contract.

You now wish to buy a BCV resale instead of the SSR Contract...but don't want to cancel the SSR Contract until the BCV resale has been accepted. Is that the scenario?

I doubt that the BCV contract could possibly pass ROFR and final approval anytime within your no-penalty cancelation window with Disney.

yes chuck that is right

but the points were available to me as soon as I put the $500 down, and my guide tells me it is all on 'hold' no mention of a deadline ?

I will probabaly just wait - altought this ROFR business is driving me mad !

As long as you haven't sent the paperwork back, yeah, it's pretty much on indefinite hold (with DVC holding your $500.)

Once you return the paperwork, the cancellation period is only 14 days.

Regardless, you can sit on that paperwork as long as you wish. But, if you call your Guide and cancel the SSR contract, they will also cancel any reservations that you made with your deposit and refund the money to you.

Tjkraz, is correct.

Any ressies made with your SSR points will be cancelled when you withdraw your deposit. Also after too long, you will receive a call from DVC QA, asking if you need assistance with your paperwork. (Im a procrastinator). The paperwork will have a proposed closing date on it and if you pass that day, your ressie may be in jeopardy anyway, as you cant use the points until the contract closes and DVC knows how long that process takes, those dates may clash.

With the current market, I would hold on to the SSR contract too, but if you successfully pass ROFR (pixie dust) all ressies will begin when that contract is available in their system.
