Disney suspends internships, work programs as the coronavirus pandemic leaves the parks shut down

Insiders are reporting a best case scenario of June 1st and worst case scenario of September 1st.

Because staff is limited to security, insiders are reporting that significant effort will be needed to reopen the parks.

I have to believe that there is a tremendous effort going on to figure out how to reopen the resort (parks, hotels, Disney Springs, etc.). I am certain that it will look nothing like it did before with changes like:
  • no fireworks (e.g., Happily Ever After)
  • no parades
  • no shows (e.g., Muppetvision 3D, Philharmagic)
  • no monorail
  • no buffets
  • one family per attraction vehicle
  • virtual queues
  • parks limited to resort guests only
I want Disney to figure this out. I'm sure they can. I am pulling for them to reopen the parks be it June 1, July 1, or November 1. I want them to win here so that we all can win.

Many of those internships are in places where they are furloughing workers from salaried position, as well,

Maybe it won’t be as impactful in the parks and resorts so they can shoot for a June 1st opening

I agree. But as I'm sure they know, a delayed opening is better than an opening before it's safe, then reclosing again.
