I would say the item should be about $4-6, which is about the price of Jolee's. If you got a killer deal, then good for you (where can I find them? ) - the price is based on retail value, not on what you paid for it. And no the pieces do not have to match. You can send a bunch of different purchased items.

Also, if you have any of those EK success dimensional sticker packs that are about $2, you should include two packs per person to equal the $4 mark. Or any combination of items to equal the value so everyone gets about equal things.
