Disney Stores?

My store closed 5 months ago and it still remains empty. I have not gone back to that mall either. Still haven't heard anything about being hired for the holidays.

I wonder why they had to close all of those stores in Bufallo. I can see taking most of them away, but why all of them?

I really hope they do make the stores magical again, they did seem less planned out the more there were. I hope the quality goes up too. It always is an adventure even going in that huge store in Epcot... or that one in Downtown Disney. Isn't that the biggest store in the world? lol, but the stores can take an hour just to go through and look at everything, and I was still getting somewhat lost. I could spend all day in a store, especially since the ones at the parks are just cooler and have more going on. I hope the Disney Stores get some of that creativity.

Hoping they will be more like they used to be...more adult clothes and collectables. They stores in our area sold way to much toys (that I could buy at Walmart, cheaper). They need to sell a wider variety of merchandise.

The closest one to us is now over 3 hours away supposedly. I've heard that they closed at least one in Kansas City which is where our closest is supposed to be. Not that I'm going to drive 3 hours to shop at Disney no matter how big a fan I am. I had just gotten my Mom into buying Disney stuff shortly before they closed our only store around Omaha.

Im pretty sure we still have two within a half hour distance of us... I wonder why? Maybe our location just has alot of disney freaks in it or something... that understandable because we go there all the time. I would also like the see more adult clothes, I really wish I had enough money to completley redo my room into a Disney room. You cant really get things at the Disney Store right now for that anyways- only in the huge stores in WDW, or DLR.

Yea, but the one that is close to us flips is not all that impressive. It is quite small in the the grand scale of the Disney store measurement. I wish we had more to it, but i guess i should be thankful that there is even one that close to us. I wish they were all more like the one in New York City, just seeing the pics of that one is so great. It looks so awesome.

That's what happens when Disney gets greedy and someone things they can mass produce the "magic"...you end up with what we had just before the stores closed. Junk, Junk and more Junk.

Our Disney Store in the mall closed years ago, but there was an outlet in Foley AL and in Destin FL that both closed this year. I went to the Foley outlets yesterday and still miss the Disney Store so much I can't stand it. The closest place for me to shop now is Mobile AL (if it is still open) and not much adult merchandise there. They are forcing me to shop online or go to the park. :(

I went into our local store this past weekend for the first time since the takeover. You'll be disappointed. The first thing I thought of when I walked in was "Oh, they are taking them the route of toys, stuffed animals, and kids costumes..." A solid 80% of the store was dedicated to toys and childrens play items. The remaining 20% was predominantly childrens clothing with a couple of racks of adults clothes.

All of the adult merchandise like plates, lamps, etc and the majority of adults clothing that was there last year... yeah... gone.

Chris

I think that the Disney Stores are trying to get rid of the merchandise that The Childrens Place was selling, and it is getting ready to sell items that was designed by The Walt Disney Company. It is just a guess though.

yeah, no one would just throw all that stuff out lol. of course they are going to get rid of everything they have already, then restock it.

i sure do wish they make the stores more magical...

The main reason why most of the store is full of costumes is because of Halloween is so close. To be perfectly honest with you, I've been at my store for almost 10 years now, and I think this year we have less costumes than we have had in the past. The holiday merchandise will be coming in soon.

Yes, the stores are still trying to get rid of TCP's merchandise. I'm not 100% sure when all of the merchandise will be WDC product.

Yea but they will probably just turn around and sell what WDW does...

I worked at TDS in college (many moons ago) when it was owned by Disney and it was so fun! We had all of the great collectibles, jewelry, prints, clothing for all ages - it really was a treat to shop there. The decor was also so much better - there were vignettes of scenes from Disney movies around the entire ceiling.

My niece currently works at our local TDS and I was talking to her manager the other day. The manager told me that they are going to go through a rehab soon - I hope they bring the "magic" back to the store. A place that you took your time to browse through because there were so many treasures. Not just toys, more toys, a few tshirts, and some more toys.
