Just found out today that all the Disney stores will be closing in Ct. by the middle of June. In my mall Disney Store has already closed. I went to the nearest one to my town today and they have all signs up that they will be closing. The girl said all Disney stores were in a liquidation process now. There will only be ONE store in my state now and it is about an hour away from me. I dont know if this info has been posted before and perhaps this is not the right forum to post this...Whatever stores are still opened are not selling Disney Dollars...I was upset about this. I was planning on purchasing disney dollars for all the kids birthdays. Does anyone know where you can purchase disney dollars besides the stores? Thanks for any help on this.

Don't worry...not all of the Disney Stores across the country are closing. The stores were recently returned back to Disney after a couple of years of being owned by The Children's Place. Sadly, in order for this to happen about 100 stores are being closed. Any of the stores that are closing are currently in the liquidation process, the ones that aren't are operating as normal - I can attest to that because I worked at my store tonight. The stores that are being liquidated are no longer selling Disney Dollars, however they should still be selling the gift cards. If not, any store that is NOT closing will still have Disney Dollars (I bought some tonight before my shift).

Hope that helps! :)

You can also buy Disney gift cards online from Disney Shopping.

Our one and only Disney Store in Boardman Ohio Mall is closing. We usually go there every weekend to visit. They did a booming business, go figure.

I went to the Disney store in our area that was not on the "list"....it's closing too. I went specifically to get my niece Disney dollars and I couldn't get them either. The closest store staying open to us is two hours away....so sad.

Pepe of Ohio do you know if the Boardman store is have a going out of business sale? If so when?

From what I heard from the Disney Store near me (closing). All Ct stores are in liquidation now and by the end of June middle of July they will all be closed.
The only Disney Store staying open in Ct will be neart Hartford, the West Farms Mall...Bummer!

anyone know if any stores in Buffalo/Niagara area are remaining open.

. It doesn't sound like West Farms helps you which is too bad. I work in Hartford so it will be convenient for me. I promised my DD she could earn Disney Dollars so I better get some just in case!! Probably will run over to the store in Manchester for my lunch and see if I can get any good deals!

The store in Providence RI closed well over a year ago. Hopefully Disney can bring the stores back to how they used to be. I think a less. Saturated market is a good thing. It makes buying souvies in the parks less special when you get can get some similar stuff at any mall in the US.

My store in Southern Maryland is closing. They are in a Simon Mall and I read somewhere that it was not suppose to hit at a Simon Mall. They have 20 to 40% off. I am totally upset. The CM at the store told me that they ar enot allowed to use their employee discount at any other Disney store, only the ones that they work at. It was suggested that they keep it at a outlet store that they got more business now more than ever. I went in a spent 50.00 with a heavy heart, knowing that after this one closes the nearest Disney store for us to go to is an 1 1/2 hour away.

I like shopping online but I also like going. Its hard to buy clothes online for the kids because of the fact that Disney makes the kids clothes a little bit bigger.

Yes, definately is. Everything is 20-30% off now with a pretty decent selection still. T-shirts were $8 (which wasn't that great of a deal considering you can get them for $5 at various times). Got a couple beach towels for our water park days, some Enchanted containers for DD, shorts, etc. They did confirm that West Farms is staying open and if I wanted to exchange any sizes, I could do it there.
