When trying to place an order from the catalog the regular price comes up instead of the sale price listed in the catalog. Any suggestions? I would like to order over the internet instead of the phone.

Hi

I have noticed this same problem several times something will be on sale in the catalog but not online which makes no sense to me. What I do is go ahead and place the order then call the toll free number or send them an email and have them adjust it. Has worked with no problem plus you get to still use your discount codes.

I will tell you why it happens and why I have just filed a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General's Office about Disneystore.com and Disney Catalog. I received the Disney catalog the other day with the semi-annual sale. At the bottom of the cover it says DISNEYSTORE.COM * 800-237-5751. In the middle of the catalog where they have an order form it says on top of the page "Order online anytime DISNEYSTORE.COM. Call free anytime 800-237-5751." I ordered the Princess Decorating Kit on page 26 that was on sale for $6.99 from $12.50. When I placed my internet order my confirmation showed the regular price. I called the 800# and chose the option for internet orders. I talked to a very rude person who told me this: Disneystore.com and Disney Catalog are two separate companies who do no do business together in any way and what is on sale for one of the businesses is not necessarily on sale for the other business. I informed her that on the cover of the catalog it had both the 800# and Disneystore.com listed. She explained again they were separate businesses and I was not entitled to the sale price in the catalog because I ordered on the internet. I finally hung up on her and called back again and chose the catalog option. I explained my situation again and the nice person informed me that yes the other person was correct and they get complaints about this all the time and that Disney does a poor job advertising. I was informed that I would be given the adjustment as a one time courtesy but to keep it in mind the next time I ordered. As I said I have already contacted my state's atty gen office about the deceptive advertising.

I tried to place an order on the internet but it would not take the free shipping code that was on the catalog. I then called the help desk and placed the order on the phone and the prices she was quoting was more than the internet showed. She told me the invoice would be corrected by the main office. My only problem now is that I placed this order on 12/29 and as of today, 1/6. it has not shipped yet! Also, I rechecked the prices on 1/2 and sure enough some of the items were reduced further. I called back and they assurred me it would be corrected!

I called today and was told that they would honor any catalog prices and they had no idea why the sale prices were not coming up correctly on the internet.

I have a long story about a Disney order that I made via the internet but it got all messed up because it was sent to the wrong address. I'll skip that part. Anyway, when I tried to reorder I kept losing the connection to the Disneystore internet site when I tried to check out. I ended up writing down all the codes and prices of what I was ordering and then calling the 800 number listed under 'contact us' on the web site. I explained my problem and the woman I talked to was very polite and advised that I could have all of the discounts I was trying to get online. When my total came up I did have to remind her to take off for free shipping (there was a special at that time) and 10 percent discount for disney club membership. She took them off and my credit card has since been charged for the correct amount. I received my order four days later without having paid any kind of premium shipping. Sorry you had a bad experience but I was very happy...after the address problem was straightened out.

They are different divisions of the company, and that is why you can have three prices for one item (Catalog, internet and TDS). The whole thing is poorly run IMHO, but TDS will honor the catalog price if you ask. Just talk to a manager and they will do it (I'm a CM, I know). The catalog advertises the stores and the website because they are all in the same parent company.

mforbach, did you call the catalog or the internet help number? It would be nice if they would honor each other's prices, but we haven't heard anything about them having a policy similar to TDS.

That doesn't always work. I was in my DS this morning and asked about an item that is on sale in the catalog and not marked that way in the store. I was told by the manager that I'd have to call and order it because it's not on sale in the store. It really bugs me. They even had a sign out front stating "Semi-Annual Sale" just like the catalog, but not the same items or prices.

Then that manager doesn't read all her e-mails from the company -- or she didn't get it in the first place. Our manager got the message from the DM back early this fall, and we were all informed, in print, of this new policy. I can't believe that only certain districts do this. Our manager did add that she didn't want us to advertise it to guests, but that if they came and asked for the catalog or online sale price we were to give it to them. I did it just last week. A woman came in with a print out of the slippers she wanted, and the manager did a price override for her.
