I asked this on the Collecters Board & got 1 response since 3/7/06. It's a dying town over there.

I collect Disney Snowglobes. Are the Childrens Place Disney Store Globes still Disney SnowGlobes? What do you all think of them?

I was there on Thursday but didnt pick up a snowglobe but when I go back on Sunday afternoon I will check it out for you . Everything I have bought since the takeover has been Disney stuff though so I am sure that they will be the same. You know you can order anything they sell in WDW over the phone :)

I'm not sure what you mean by "Are the Childrens Place Disney Store Globes still Disney SnowGlobes?". The snowglobes feature Disney characters and have Disney logos on the box....at least they did when I worked at TDS over the Christmas holiday. they ranged in price from $44 to $88 depending on the size and have music boxes.

I think she meant to ask if we thought they were authentic Disney items. I think they are. I do not collect them myself, but over Christmas break I have seen some at DTD that were the same as available in the mall store.

To be sure, you can always order through the Disney catalog or as another poster said call and order directly from WDW itself. You can buy anything you've seen at the resort stores or DTD over the phone.

Thanks ADisneygirl. I don't collect them myself.

It should then be noted that the snow globes at the Disney Store are not the same ones found in the Disney Catalog or at DisneyShopping.com. The designs are different.

:confused3 I got one for Christmas and it had a crack in it, i did not notice it till I threw away the box......the lady at my disney store told me it would only be worth a penny so I might as well just keep it........that was the last time I was in the disney store.

I just recieved my last one to complete the train garden ( Check out the Tink Room in Sig ) so I will be finishing it tonight I have some from Dis shopping some from TDStore and a couple small ones from WDW .

I know they have different ones from each but they all come in the same type boxes and are of the same quality in my opinion.

I just told my DH I want to start collecting Disney snowglobes when our living room is finished, he's setting aside a place for me.

Are they hard to come by? Are they being discontinued or something?

What's the connection between the Childrens Place and the Disney store? :confused3

Help! thank you :)

Yes, the globes at TDS are still just as nice as when we were owned by Disney.
Look at it this way....you now have more options for your collection :teeth:

They come out with new ones a lot of times ( if you see one you really like get it then ) Put the old ones on sale 1/2 off most of the time.

They will always IMO make snowglobes they just change them offend.

The Disney Store is now Owned and ran by The Childrens Place.

Its's wonderful U called my DDs over & they said who's room . I said her daughters. My DD said are you sure there may be people like you in the world.

Thank you everyone for your replys.

The new ones by Childrens Place Disney Store do not look the same to me & the boxes are not the same. They also have a different Logo it says Disney Store.

If I find one I love I will buy it..Toy Story in the TV is cool.

I wkd at TDS before and after the takeover. IMO the Children's Place snowglobes are not as elaborate as the ones TDS used to carry. In some ways though that is nice............I can't tell you how many snowglobes we had to damage out just because one little tiny piece came off. Many time the cm's did it when putting the display ones in boxes!! They never were considered a 'collectible'

thank you tmt martins, I wasn't aware of the changes in ownership and such.
