Really puts you off buying from there. And that suitcase was perfect for pour DLP trip...:(

OMG that's scary!!! :scared1:

I placed an order from there yesterday - I couldn't resist the sale prices on the snowglobes!!! I ordered waaayyyy to much! :rolleyes1

There is lots on there i want to get, clothes wise for Kyra. I will have to get a different suitcase from the Disney uk site i think. As long as that doesnt have any chemicals known to cause Cancer.

I have sent them a email asking why they are selling this product. Wonder if i will get a reply.

The state of California has quite strict legislation regarding lead and other potentially hazardous materials so i'm guessing it's something to do with that (they have to have that warning on any items containing it) There was quite a big thing about lead paint being used on toys in the US recently.
ETA: If you're interested in reading up it's 'proposition 65' Here's the current long list of chemicals:

Goes to show that the world we live in is crazy if a suitcase could cause cancer.

Just looking at that link and i think the State of CA think every chemical causes cancer etc...

I mean its listed Warfarin and my brother has to take that for his heart condition and it says it causes developement problems.

I think i'll buy a suitcase elsewhere.

I remember reading about this chemical recently in the Daily Mail. They have to state it.
Take Warfarin-a potent drug which is still used to kill mice+rats. But my Nan takes it for her heart. If taken correctly-no harm done. But they must put a warning to 'cover themselves'.Same as with this bag.x.

Was'nt the Princess Belle or the Cinderella staircase one by any chance-or both :rolleyes1 ?.x.

It's probably the little sachet of stuff kept inside to keep any damp out, like some kind of dessicant. You get them in suitcases and handbags and stuff everywhere. It also says DO NOT EAT in great big letters on it. The US are a bit more hysterical about what they deem a dangerous chemical. I wouldn't worry about it really. My DH works in the pharmaceutical industry and he says they are a nightmare. Over the top a bit.
That is such a sweet suitcase. Might have to see about Santa bringing it for my DD. :goodvibes

It just gave me a big fright seeing that, must agree the suitcase is adorable and i want it :rotfl: just the whole causing cancer thing has made me a bit wary.

Don't worry about it. I think some Americans like to cause panic. (Just Joking!) :thumbsup2

It's probably the same materials that are used on many suitcases but the only location that it has to be declared.

I have no idea what my DD's suitcase from the UK Disney Store is made from.

I agree, if you were to buy any of the Disney one's from the UK shops then it would probably contain exactly the same chemicals but we don't have to add it to the label!

I already have the Cinderella staircase one....just realised they don't have as many on the Disney Store USA site that Emma linked to. My order was Disneyshopping.com. I will post piccies for you when I get them.x
