Disney Store Sale

Another interesting thing......I went to the Columbia Mall in MD, because I could have sworn they had a TDS. Well, there was no store there, but there were signs saying "new Disney store coming" and info about job interviews. Now, I'm wondering what the deal is. I'm surprised that any new TDS are opening with all the others that have been closing.
The Columbia Store is closed for remodelling. It is scheduled to reopen in mid-July.

Oh, and of course the pins! I saw them after I had already checked out, went back and bought 14 different ones for only $16 and some change! I only bought ones with Disney characters on them. None of the obsure ones.

Ours didnt have the pins. I looked all over and asked the manager while I was paying and she hesitated then said no they didnt have the pins anymore. Wonder if they just moved them into the back so they didnt have to include them in the sale.

cinders--we have 2 disney stores here and neither one carries pins anymore. No lanyards either. I did get a couple of really cute shirts for $5, a cool little backpack $6 and 2 little breeze fans for $2.50. Taking all of it to Disney next visit.

Does anyone know when the sale is going to end?

Cinmell,

I was at my local TDS this morning and the CM told me it was supposed to end this past sunday, but its been extended until they clear out most of the summer things.

WOW WHAT A SALE!!!!!!
I was going to the DS today to pick up Disney Dollars and since you can only buy $100 a day, I would make a trip to the other mall (about 30 minutes from each other) to get the other $100. I got in there and went crazy. The Christiana Mall store was packed I picked up those mini light up fans(9), light chasers (9), pins, plenty of shirts, princess pants, shorts, washclothes Ariel bubble blower and I'm sure I forgot stuff, but my Christiana total came up to$224-excluding disney dollars (no Nemo Tickets) and Concord Malls total was $127-INCLUDING disney dollars and I got Nemo tickets. Good thing is excluding disney dollars my total was $251 from both stores. I was curious and decided to add all this stuff up at reg. price and that total was.............. Are you ready budget board? A wopping $738. I saved almost $500. I'm taking 11 people (and paying for all) so us dressing "Disney Ready" was not going to be in my budget beside some download iron on tranfers (which I may still do) shirts. Now we have shirts for a few days, light chasers and fans that I don't have to be "mean " and say no to 9 kids screaming they all want a $20 light chaser, when I paid $2.50 for them today. Man that shopping spree felt great.:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

tebright answered my question for tomorrow(b/c I was going to call and ask) by mentioning that Christiana store only had 10 tix left 6 days ago.:)

My local stores were having the 50% off sales as well as some 75% off racks. I got a ton of christmas presents for my nieces and my kids for 75% off. The only 50% off I bought were the mickey american 2003 t-shirts for our oct trip, I got matching for my family. With the additional 10% off from the disney club. I was set.

I went on Friday and the sale was still going on. I got some more underpants for my 5 year old and another patriotic Mickey shirt- $16.

A lightchaser is a plastic toy that features a Disney character on the top- we have a Buzz & a Pooh one. You press a button and it spins these plastic-flexible "arms" that have different colored lights on the end. It spins really fast so the colors kind of blurr. When we were at the World in March we bought one for each child- they were 10.50 with tax- 2.50 is a real bargain!!! Don't forget extra batteries when you go, or load them up with Duracells. They come with the cheap no-name brand batteries that die pretty quickly. :D

I bought the Country Mickey n Minnie quilt online . When it arrive I didnt like it and returned it. I did like the Cinderella wallpaper border and drape set I bought though:D
I got princess swimsuits for 50% discount:D

Wow, besides my DD getting her pre-trip Disney souvenirs for her friends at 50-75% off, the whole store was on sale!!

The best part was if you pre-ordered the Jungle Book2(paid for it ) and spent over 50.00, you got a Disney Lithograph, plus a 10.00 off giftcard right there and then. Disney dollars do not count towards minimum purchase....

Have to go back tomorrow to pick up the DVD. SHould have no problem earning another 10.00 gift card!! Geez sales like this are too tempting to pass up!!

Also Park Tickets (to DL or WDW), Gift Cards, SOME collectables and SOMETIMES clearence Items do not count towards the minimum purchase...
And the price limit is ALWAY BEFORE tax, and AFTER discounts (includeing the Disney Club/Vacation club cards and coupons). you also HAVE to go over $50. even if your at $49.95, you have to buy something else (my store has been strongly told by the company to enforce this, dont blame the cm)

Other then that, the sale is still on, and prices to change from time to time, even day to day (UP as well as down) and items are flying out the door. So if you see something you want, get it when you see it because it might not be there, or the price might be higher when you come back  :smooth:

I have been to the Disney Store three day in a row now and buy more each day.

I am 90% finished with my Christmas shopping for my nieces and nephews.

I'm sure I will be making one more trip for good deals before the sale is over.

)I LOVE the idea of buying "souvenirs" at TDS and then saying Mickey left it in the room for the kids (one of mine is 13 and will know the difference, but she won't tell!;)

Another tip, keep checking your local store. Most of us are putting out new items each few days ......... we have stuff stored "off-site" which in some cases literally means down the road in a storage facility. We bring back a little each couple of days. That is why you sometimes see different stuff on subsequent visits........

So come on in and see us, and help us clear out our backstock, so we can be ready for back to school and Halloween, AND that new adult and infant product we keep hearing about.

When I went yesterday to my local DS they did have the 50% off and some 75% off. I asked her when the sale was on till and she said 6-10-03 because that is when they are closing for a renovation. They will open back up around Labor Day. Anyone else here about this  This was in the West Farms Mall in CT.

I asked a CM at our closest store in NH and he said they were closing for renovations also. He did not say when they were opening back up but at least they are not closing for good. I asked him if they would be getting more adult items and he said the buzz was yes and more collectables as well. I said good because the items lately have been junk. Even at 50 and 75% off there was nothing I would buy. He said well now that they got rid of a cretain someone (I said oh Pressler and he was surprised I knew of him) they will hopefully be better.

They had a lot of 75% stuff off still, but there was a ton of people in line. Maybe they are tring to boost second qtr earnings?

I love these semi annual sales too. Ours has been going on for 2 wks. We got the Princess snow cone maker for $4.99, spent over 50 and got the free Nemo shirt (it is so cute) with the coupon from the last promo. We all got matching Americana Mickey shirts to wear to the parks. My husband thought it might be a little "cutesy" but I think he will go for it.
