Disney Store Received the Word Today about the DVC Discount!

Haven't bought anything at TDS in a long time. Nothing worth buying anymore. No big loss here, but I am sure it is for others.

Does anyone know if this is the case for the outlet stores as well? I think they're different than the regular disney stores. I know they carry merchandise from the catalogs.

The discount was never honored here in Canada, so I won't miss that so much, but I do have to admit how disappointed I am that Children's Place has taken over the Disney Store.

Last year in August, I shopped at Children's Place for the first time, and my son got hurt when he walked right into a post that was jutting straight out of the wall at his eye level. His eyeball was bleeding, and the employees were very little help. I thought they could at least offer to send someone for a cup of ice but when I asked for ice they apologized and said they didn't have any ice so I hauled my crying 4 year old and heavy one year old down to the food court to ice a bloody eye.

I returned to the store to fill out an accident report and never heard anything back, so after seeing the eye doctor and finding out his eyeball was scratched and bruised, I called the store and demanded to talk to a district manager.

A day later the district manager called me back, and when I asked her why a clothes hanging post was jutting straight out of the wall at a child's height, and she explained to me that because the store had just been opened, they were "still working out the kinks" and someone had probably installed it in the wrong place. She said she couldn't comment further because she hadn't been to the store yet to see where he had been hurt.

I was a little shocked- he seriously could have lost his eye, and she didn't seem to be too concerned about moving the post or even going to the store to see what the problem was.

WE've let the issue go, though I will NEVER shop there again.

I have popped in there since the accident and noticed the post has been removed, and there are no other similar posts set anywhere near a child's level.

I realize accidents happen, but I can't forgive the fact that they never called back to see if his eye healed. A simple phone call, card, ballooon, would have really helped me get over it.

So now I'm struggling to decide if I'm going to boycott the Disney Store as well. Is Disney Direct owned by Children's Place as well?

Off To Neverland the discount was always gioven to us in the Ontario Disney Stores in Hamilton and in the GTA what part of Canada are you from? WE even as recently as last weekend were given the discount.

Yes we knew they were sold to TCP and the CDN stores were sold also but they honoured the discount this past weekend not to sure why we got it here we are not overseas by any stretch LOL unless it is because we go in so often they just gave us a 10% discount not to sure kinda like a frequent shopper discount LOL.

They honored it since the person waiting on you probably didn't know. There will probably be a period of "I got it's" until they get thier systems all updated and folks trained.

It was actually the manager that attended all the changeover meetings and supposedly knows the limitations for the discounts etc so who knows all I know is they honoured it and I will continue to use it as long as they give it to me LOL.
