Disney store pins?

I bought 50 sets. Some are for our family and some are going to be donated to a local charity.

I make no apologies for it either. You snooze you lose.

   That's wonderful........
My son loves giving out pins to kids who are trading, we plan on giving out some of our 'Starter sets' too.
It's so much better to give than to receive....:goodvibes Spread the 'Disney Magic' :wizard:

Exactly! I love making kids smile by giving them a pin. We have given away more pins than I care to mention to kids and a few adults at WDW. If a kid is behaving well and has a lanyard on, why not spread the magic?!?! I have had people see something on my lanyard and comment that they wish they had their pins because they needed some pin to make little Suzie happy.....I just give it up. Most people are just floored that anyone would be willing to do so. I think it just helps us gather more pixie dust later on. ;) I have some great memories attached to a few of these incidents. I have never regretted being nice to someone at WDW. :wizard:

The biggest problem with these pin sales is that they dump so many identical pins on the market so quickly, that the CM lanyards just fill up with them. Disney does this thru sales in their outlets, as well. It will just be frustrating for traders for awhile, as these pins flood the trading for a few months, and every lanyard you see will have these on them already. Believe me, if you are buying alot of them, the WDW pin sharks are, too.

Good luck to you all, and have fun trading.

I'm not using mine until 2010 on our next cruise....market should be in need of some generic pins then....

True.......
I had not planned to but think I will buy some on E-bay as well just to be safe, we have three trips planned Oct, Dec, and April. Hopefully it will have calmed down by then.
Happy Trading! :goodvibes

So you purchased eighty sets, huh?? Perhaps that's the reason that others couldn't take advantage of the sale. I think the DS should put a limit on sales so everyone has a chance to enjoy the savings. JMHO....

Perhaps you should get up earlier. JMHO Seriously though, DS thanksfully doesn't limit any purchases, especially clearance items. The reason the items are on clearance is because no one wanted them the first time around and all DS cares about is moving product. The early bird gets the worm.

Before my nearest store closed I would buy EVERY clearance pin they had in stock, then I would have them call the other stores in our area so I could buy EVERY pin in those stores and have them shipped to my home. If I can afford them, I buy them.

I do not buy from eBay anymore because so many of those pins are counterfeit.

Good points! :woohoo: :woohoo:
I have kicked myself for missing a sale.
I have never chastised anyone else 'for being in the right place, at the right time' JMHO ;)

Everyone looks at things differently. I've been trading since the late nineties and have amassed hundreds and hundreds of pins. I often give a pin to a child who admires it. I've been awarded the "Continuing the Tradition" pin on two different occasions by a cast member. If there are several CM pins on a lanyard and I already have it, I'll leave it for someone else to find. And....my husband is retired military and I've never used his multiple deployments as an excuse for something I, personally, have done. It just depends on who you are.

Yes, I took advantage since my SON IS DEPLOYED IN THE DESERT!!!!! and can't get to the store himself right now!!! Read my post it's for three adults and TWO grand children. MY DD went to one store for her brother, and I went to another.

Being that she shopped at 2 locations in the great state of Maryland, that would leave over 138 Disney Stores to choose from. That also includes the 5 stores unscathed in MA.

i think i was the only one who was at the two stores who posted on this board - but you're totally right -- there are lots of disney stores still left and anybody can walk in and get whatever they want. frankly, someone who's not a pin trader could have walked in and bought them for some other reason besides pin trading -- does that mean they took the pins out of the pintraders' hands? No. It means they wanted the pins and got them. So this woman got them for her deployed son - that's great - who would care about that? frankly, if my husband wouldn't freak out about me coming home with $100 bill for pins - I'd buy more. (As it was, he was with me and said, "what do you need more pins for?"

Anyway, doesn't the gov't do enough to make people upset - does it have to happen on this board as well?

I am surprised by the couple of posts that have implied Tiggertails57 was wrong for buying lots of disney pins on clearance, because she didn't leave enough for other people to "enjoy the deal." Seriously? These aren't free items that Tiggertails57 took more then her fair share. She bought and paid for what is available. Last time I checked the US is not a socialist society. Thank goodness for free market.

Feel free to flame me because last year the Disney Store had pins on clearance for $1.50 each and I bought over $300 worth. The Disney Store clerks thanked me because they were tired of the pins just sitting on the shelf not being sold.

Right now the Disney Store website has Giselle pins for $1.99 each. I am thinking about buying a bunch so anybody who wants to "enjoy that deal" better get shopping because I got my credit card ready.
